i dont think its really common here to after grade 7 maybe but I know that it is in some houses for younger kids. Dont know when other families stop though.

I can not ever remember getting spanked really by anybody. I know here in the UK it is a real sore point. Don't know what the law is in the USA about it but in the UK.

In both cases it’s a parent hitting a child with a hand or object for the purposes of discipline cause the parents don’t know how to deal with the problem behavior with words or other restrictions.
Maybe a difference in severity or something, but no difference in principal imo

This comprised anything from being beaten up, to getting burnt with a cigarette to have broken bones or having a gun pointed at your had and been told to you get shot.

I might not be an expert on parenting since I'm not yet an adult or parent but neither are you. Still you try to promote positive effects of spanking in your postings.


Second I didn't call your Dad anything in my post since the only "Dad" I explicitly mentioned was my own Dad.
I just talked about my view of using violence as a lack of parenting skills in general.
