No, not really, but it just feels like switching to boxers means you're a big kid for some reason. I switched in grade 9, and that was later compared to everyone else.

Oh, nice. I wore briefs for a long time but I felt like a young kid. Finally switched to boxers, which didn't offer support, and now boxers briefs. I like boxer briefs most but I'd wear briefs too if it weren't for how everyone else thinks about them.

I wore briefs from like 4 to 8, then boxers from 8 to 11, then boxer briefs and sexy briefs from 12 to now.

Most guys make the switch when they have to start changing for gym. Lets face it we all wore regular briefs from the beginning, so they can't have been that bad. But social pressures result in a switch around middle school. I currently live with my uncle who doesn't allow boxers for his kids, a rule that now applies to me. I've been going to the same school as them, and we aren't the only guys wearing briefs. So maybe it depends on the community too. My aunt buys mostly Fruit of the Loom and Hanes. If we ask nicely we get colors. They're comfortable enough.

The only switch I've made is from briefs (although I still wear them sometimes) to low rise/bikini briefs or thongs. Never been a fan of boxers or boxer briefs.

Um well I really never wore boxers but I guess I switched to boxer briefs probably 5th or 6th grade. I still wear briefs sometimes though.

Obviously, if you parents still buy you your underwear you are at the mercy of what they buy you (many will buy you your preference at least as far as type goes). If you want a special brand or whatever you could always buy what you want.

In the end wear what you find comfortable. Your the one wearing them all day. If you like them, that's what counts.

My brother, dad, and me all prefer briefs or commando. Maybe we didn't have a good brand but the boxers and boxer briefs we tried the legs kept wadding up. You don't have that issue with briefs

I like my briefs. I have always worn them and will continue wearing them. I do not like how my junk can freely swing all over the place in boxers. I do not think there is any correlation between age and type of underwear. My dad still wears briefs.

i wear briefs or bikinis style, things like boxer briefs sometimes. Usually though its bikinis or that style. I wear boxers at night though at home or lounging at home sometimes.

In 7th grade I switched from tightly whities to boxer briefs that were blue, green, grey, or black. I mostly did this because this year was the first year I had to change for pe and I didn't want to do that in my tightly whities. It also felt good for taekwondo, where I had to change in and out of my uniform and sparring gear. Before the change, I was super embarrassed to change around the other guys who mostly wore boxers or boxer briefs or at least colored briefs. For the days I had sparring class, I need to take my cup and jock strap off after class, and some days I was so embarrassed that I wore it all the way home and too it off there. In middle school, I was around a bunch of guys who mostly wore boxer briefs,or boxers, and most of the baseball boys wore white under amour compression shorts. I was happy because I never had to wear my tights whities. When I got to freshman year in high school, I fully switched to boxers because all of the guys wore boxers or compression shorts. At first I felt super uncomfortable and got a ton of random boxers, but overall not too bad.
