I read somewhere that the slight curve up "helps the erect penis enter the vagina". Personally, I suspect just about any erect penis "enters the vagina" just fine. So I think most any curve or straight position when erect is perfectly normal.

A straight one is extremely rare. Mine curves up and to the left. Genetics and other stuff makes everyone's different. I'm not sure if up down left or right is most common.

Really? Most boys that I have seen have their boners pointing up. Some of them are not as high as I am, mine is literally pointing to my nose lol but they are at least pointing up with an angle.

I remember a comparison I made with a friend back when we were both 12, at a sleepover at his house. This was before either of us knew anything about masturbating. We were comparing our erections. When I'd push mine down so it would be pointing straight out just like his, letting it go it would pop right back straight up. And when he pushed his straight up like mine and then let go, it popped right back to straight out. That was my first realization that boys could naturally have very different erections, even if they looked pretty much alike when soft.
