The past few days Ive been so down. Ive just felt lost, trapped, and hopeless. Ive been struggling so hard to be happy lately. I feel like my life is such a disaster. Ive been overly sensitive to everything no matter what it is. I don't feel like I belong anywhere anymore. I feel out of place even within my family.

I need to fix myself soon otherwise I am gonna have a major breakdown like I did a year ago and I wanna avoid going through that again if at all possible.

Are these feelings normal? How do I get rid of them?

It is normal. Everyone gets down. How you handle it is up to you.

Today I heard an adult say "making things worse just makes things worse." Do NOT do anything that will worsen the situation.

Choices have consequences. Pushing off whatever is causing this pain will only postpone it. I do not know what it is that is upsetting you. It would be good to identify the cause of this anguish. I don't know your parents but I would suggest possibly talking to them. If not them, you might know another adult you could talk to.

Without the context of your situation, I can only give some universal tips.

You can look at your future and try to prepare to crush what is coming up ahead of you. Anxiety is often caused by uncertainty of future. My working theory is that depression is similar. What is hope? Find hope. Figure out what you want and go get it. If it unreachable, start small. Focus on the little things.

Take showers and stay clean. I really belive there is a connection with cleanliness vs filth and postitivity vs negativity. Exercise if you can.Eat good. 7 to 8 hours of sleep.
When you go to bed, think of the good things and what you are looking forward too. Do not stay up with negative thinking. It keeps you from sleeping and then negatively affects dreaming. Bad dreams yield negativity. Good dreams lean toward positivity. Dreaming is weird altogether but if you can influence them positively they will influence you positively.

Most of all, Keep a good and positive mindset.

Hope this was somewhat helpful

I think u should start with a health physical
to c if there is anything with ur system causing
to to feel down. A good medication to ease ur
nerves might just help. U said u had a major
breakdown. Did u c a doctor after that? Do u
work and what kind of activities do u like? Its a
good thing to get involved with something to get
ur mind off urself. Also going for a drive or a visit
to another place-a change of scene can free ur
mind. The thing is a good talk with someone who
deals with these kind of feelings would b the best.
Everyone has their ups and downs at times trying
to deal with everyday life. There is nothing wrong
in how u feel but u have to accept urself.

I think its best to look at your life and see what you think is making you feel this way, a lotta times something blatantly toxic remains in your life and you just need to take action on it

It is okay everybody feels like this at some point. Do not try to clear your mind of negative thoughts, if you have any identify them and recognize its source...what exactly is making you feel this way? I also recommend guided imagery, you can find videos on Youtube that take you through it but I recommend researching it as well. There is another useful technique I think might work. Basically, when you see yourself having negative thoughts close your eyes and imagine placing those thoughts into a box or whatever, just what makes the most sense to you.

Your feelings are actually pretty normal in general. We all go through periods of times we feel this or that.
But as @ska8ter said I’d talk to a doc, start there
Maybe something happening you don’t know about yourself yet

These feeling is normal. I had the exact experience before. Till now I can’t say I find my way. Everyday is a new day I tell myself. There will be struggle but it just the way you see the problem. Another way is talk to someone and let it out.

Hi there, according to me, you need to stay positive in every phase of life. You need to make yourself strong enough to handle these things. I have also heard about professionals voyance pure (http://www.martine-voyance.com/) online, who are expert in making you mentally strong and motivate you to handle every situation in a positive way.
