First Cat

Hey guys! I just got my first cat/kitten on the weekend. He's 6 weeks~ old and he's super cute

This is my first picture of him on the weekend. Where I live, people whose dogs and cats have puppies and kittens must register themselves as a breeder, regardless of if it's intentional or not. I'm assuming this is the reason why him and his 3 sisters were dumped in my partners parents neighbour's back yard.

So my partners sister took 1, a friend took 2, and he was left over for my partners mum. Unfortunately, her older cat hates this kitten, a lot, so we decided to take him off her hands. He is super playful.

Cut to yesterday, after a 2 hour drive trip, he was safely in his new home with me. He is very smol.

This is him sleeping. He always finds a lap to sleep on. I feel so guilty getting up and interrupting his sleep.

This is him during a bath. He actually doesn't hate water like most cats. These are nontoxic bubbles so he's okay, but I think he had a lot of fun.

And this is our car ride to get food. We bring him on trips so he doesn't get scared in the car. We also let him walk around out of his cage in the car. He's very chill in the car.

Because of how we got him, he was free, which is awesome because I don't think I would've got a pet for at least another couple of years. You're right though, while I don't have a great weekly income, I do have savings ready if something happens which is the most important thing with pets. Some also may freak out if you move a lot which sucks :( But I'm sure there's something out there for you!

my advice to anybody who doesn't have cats, but is thinking of getting one. consider getting two, otherwise they don't learn how to socialize with other cats. if you get one, and then get another a couple years later, the older cat might hate the new kitten. if you get two together, then they grow up together and learn to tolerate each other, and more likely to accept more later on.
