Hey guys. im 5ft 7 and 194lbs and i need to loose weight. the strech marks are appearing here and there. Obviously the best way would be to go for a run everyday but the weather and my schedule does not permit.
I do about 50 squats a day as thats what I've heard helps as well as adjusting my diet. ARe there any tips on weightloss that I can do freely at home?
Also, on the not of squats, I heard they build muscle which then looses weight. But then some say it makes ur butt bigger. Can someone give me a definite answer?
THanks in advance :)

Do a combination of muscle workouts, cardio, & dieting. Work out about 3-5 times a week, if the weather is nice go for a run, if it's not do a workout at home. There are many workout videos online. Eat about 5 small meals a day & drink at least 64oz of water a day.
I used to weigh 209lbs, I now weigh 160lbs. It's going to take sometime, so be patient!

There are different techniques of squat aiming at the development of different muscles.
Watch you tube videos to have a better idea.

Yes to your question about muscles and weight loss - the more musceled you are the better, faster your metabolism - you burn more calories. However muscle is heavier than fat so you can be well chubby or muscled and weigh the same - so best to go by how you look and feel. Squats can be good as they exercise large muscles. Try some sit ups and push ups as well. Even a walk of say 10 - 35 mins can be good.

What about the gym on weekends? Or even home exercises, the mountain climbers exercise, etc. There are plenty of home cardio workouts without the use of a treadmill.
Ideally it's better for you to get on a workout program along with the weight loss, just so that you won't feel weaker than before. Squats can only do so much, especially when they're only bodyweight. You shouldn't worry about them making your "back" bigger though, lol.
Also, don't forget that there's no point in really trying to loose weight if your diet doesn't consist of better food choices. Get a hold on your diet, and get on a caloric deficit.
edit : ^ 5 pounds of muscle and 5 pounds of fat weigh the same. muscle is denser than fat, which just means that it weighs more per unit of volume compared to fat.
