When we go out anywhere like to a restaurant my dad always makes me wear a white tee shirt with a button up shirt.
Does anyone else have to dress like this to go out.
I don't see a reason behind it myself

You're not allowed to pick your own clothes? Also, that's not a bad style at all, but if you have to wear it practically everywhere then it can get repetitive.

I pick my own clothes. He just want let me go anywhere kinda nice with him wearing shorts and a tee shirt.
Usually there are other people my age there in shorts

I guess he just thinks it looks classier on you (although it's really not that big of a deal). Maybe you should talk to him about it.

I was never forced to, esp not for places where it is not expected to. I know it is sometimes nice to wear an undershirt under a dress shirt so if you end up sweating, it helps keep the dress shirt clean.

Sometimes my mom springs on me some dinner that I have to go to and that I have to get dressed up for. But not just if we're heading out to a family dinner.

My mom used to dress me in a vest underneath my tee/shirt. When I was small this was to keep me warm as I was so skinny and weak..I too liked it cos it made my skinny body appear bigger..
Now that I've grown a bit chubby I wear a tight vest to keep my puffy nipples (I've got tiny mboobs now) flat down.

I don't need to dress up in anything fancy, I just go in whatever casual outfit I'm wearing. The only time I'm dressed a bit "fancier" is if we go after church

I think it's normal, it's so you 'look the part when you're out. It also teaches you to get in the habit for when you're older. It depends on the occasion, if it's just going to the bar for a drink I'm not gonna dress up. But if my buddies and I are going for a meal somewhere nice, not great but better than average i'll dress up.

When we go out to dinner we get told to dress appropriately so that usually means more than a tee shirt. If I wear a button down shirt then I always wear an undershirt with it.

I wear a buttened-up shirt with an undershirt when we go out somewhere upper-scale. But if we go out for a basic family dinner, I just wear jeans and a shirt

When I was younger and we were going out to a restaurants for a family meal, my mum would always pick my clothes for me to wear as she said she wanted me to look smart when we were out, and to think of eating out and dressing well as a special occasion. She even brushed my hair in a certain way too. Now she has gone, I also remember what she said so when I am going out now anywhere nice I do dress up smart. Not if I am going Mac Donalds or somewhere like that but a proper place.
Your dad probably wants you to look good and as you have said being a single parent he is trying his hardest. At least you live with your dad and get to see him lots. My dad works away a lot, that's why he sent me and my sisters to boarding school. I hated being away from him at first but now this is my home, my best friends are my brothers and I love it here.

When I was younger my mom had me wear undershirts. I don't now unless it's cold outside

I have never worn an undershirt, but I don’t think I’d mind it.

I don't hate it and it's not so uncomfortable but he just makes me dress that way.

I think it's also supposed to help with stopping pit stains but I have no idea why guys wear the tank top undershirts.

Its the same for me when I go out with my mom, she says its good to look presentable when we go out because we never know who we might meet.
