View Full Version : How important is religion in your daily life?

Are you a person who only loosely associates with their religion a few times per year? Someone who actively practices their religion on a daily basis? Somewhere in between? You can go into detail if you want. Personally, religion has never played a big role in my family's life at all. I don't consider myself to be a follower of any religion either (even the one I was "brought up" with, since most of it is closed and access to scriptures and etc is only reserved for a small minority). What about you?

I observe some religious holidays, such as Christmas and Easter, for cultural/social reasons. Otherwise I do not practice any religion.

I go to church weekly and sometime I also take part to other church activities while not so much than when i was younger.
I dont practice self flagellation like my brother.
And I brake gods law in few things like premarital sex.

I go to church weekly and sometime I also take part to other church activities. I wouldn't say that religion plays a huge part of my life as much as my faith does. It is very important to me.

I go to church every week, and it's pretty important to me. My parents are both christian, so I've been raised going to church, and I feel like I would be kind of lost without it, just because I've always had it in my life. Also, having a religion and a church family has helped me get out of some dark places, and I probably wouldn't be alive if I didn't go.

Mm I don’t full on pray, because I can’t afford a lararium, but I do make offering sometimes and I do pray to Apollo and Minerva for good grades n shit  I wouldn’t say it’s a priority, but it’s definitely not absent

I don't believe in any, but it's still huge. The majority of my friends are all from different background, muslim, Catholic, Christian... So for me weirdly it's quite important

Religion isn't really important in my life. I go to church and I'm a member of some youth club of our church. I would say I'm very involved in activities of our church, however I just do this all for social interaction reasons and not for religious reasons at all. So guess I'm a pretender ;)

I find that organized Church is something that often gets corrupted. I pray everyday. Usually just once a day, sometimes more though. I don't go to church on a set schedule or more frequently during the holidays.

I classify myself as an atheist. Religion has never been part of my life really, and I started questioning it at the age of 5 haha. But I have a great lot of respect for religion, however, I find religious institutions often become corrupt and unethical. I also don't like how a lot of people say they believe in a religion but only just because it was the religion to which they were exposed. I find that to be the worst part of it, the hypocrisy and ignorance of religions and even other people's cultures. The United States has a lot of the is going on, discrimination and lack of understanding that I wish we could all put behind us.
Regardless of these problems though, religion and faith are what carry hope for a lot of people, and that is why I respect it so much. I think hope is probably the one truly universal religion.

I go to church every Sunday and I pray a few times a week. I guess by some people's standards they would see that as being very religious but I don't feel like a super devout Christian and I often think that I should pray more often. I find having a relationship with God and being able to talk to him through prayer really comforting, particularly if I'm going through a tough time. I find going to church really fulfilling and if I miss church one Sunday it usually leaves me feeling a bit empty. So my faith is an important part of my life. Not the most important part, but still a major part of it.

Religion isn't important to me in my life. Though, I do admit that I do have family members, including my immediate, that are religious. I like religious holidays such as Christmas, Easter etc; but I just don't take religion too seriously.
It doesn't affect anyone I meet. We just don't talk much about it or bring up the subject. I respect anyone who has a religion, just as long as they are not so religious that it seems wrong. You know... those "mean" people that have nothing to do, but trash on others and their way of life. I truly have a hateful feeling towards those.
On different religions, I still respect. I don't change the way I am around them. They are who they are, just like I am the way I am. They are all normal. They just have a different outlook and a way of life.

I am not religious at all. 2-3 years ago, I was. I was raised catholic, went to catholic high school and was even somewhat of an evangelical during that part of my life. I later became agnostic before commiting to being an atheist only to go back to being agnostic. I now consider myself a pantheist since I belive in God as the ultimate everything but do not follow the faith that I grew up with.
I will go to confession maybe once a year to share my sins and recieve penance. I think it is healthy to come clean about all the bad shit I get into and catholic priests can be quite intelligent especially as it pertains to morality.

Religion is honestly never been a thing that my family have cared about.
I was raised and taught that i can believe any religion i wanted- my parents are very agnostic when it comes to religion.
I'm currently a atheist and i have never been to church, but i do celebrate Christmas and Easter as i see both as more of a social and cultural holiday (a lot of my Muslim friends celebrate Christmas so i'd say its more of a goodwill and cultural thing than anything religious.)

I live in a very secular country and thus it never was a part of my
Life but traditions like Xmas and ester are just traditions which
Is why I celebrat it even tho I'm not religious.

I believe in the values most (major) religions share: be kind to each other, help each other, don't harm others, etc. But these are common values, and not solely religious.
I do not believe in any deity though.
I do celebrate Christmas and Easter, but mainly because it means quality family time. I don't celebrate the religious parts of them.
So, religion is not important in my daily life. I do well without it.
