Do you wear underwear under swimming shorts?

Undies will hide an erection, will prevent the shorts clining to my parts and prevent sand from scratching my privates.

nope never have. All my swim shorts have a mesh liner in them so it keeps the boys close or tighter than flopping around. But not wearing them and experiencing non suit swimming is amazing too.

I wear under armpit compression because then it keeps everything in and together. They don't really get/ stay wet because of the material

When I wear speedo swim briefs there's definitely no need for underwear. Swim trunks I rarely ever wear underwear underneath as well, I guess I am never worried about getting an erection in the water because, well, I'm focused and keeping myself busy on actually swimming. But have you considered the boxer-brief style speedo or swim briefs so that you don't have to worry about underwear or lack thereof?

Usually I just rely on the mesh in the shorts as underwear, but occasionally I will wear briefs or compression shorts. The latter dry out faster, so I usually go for them if I use any underwear at all

No, that seems pretty unnecessary to me. I have used underwear as swim-trunks though. lol. One time I went over to my friend's house and really wanted to go in the hot tub, but didn't have swim trunks so I just went in in my briefs. Didn't think that was a big deal.

I tend to wear underwear just in case the trunks slip off. I mean its possible that both will slip down but less likely. So just an added layer of protection from that.

My BF and my older brother admitted that the mesh liner in their swim trunks irritated the head of their penises so they either wear underwear or simply cut out the liner. My brother was on the swim team in high school and had to wear a speedo for that and there was no mesh liner so that was ok but apparently the mesh liner is irritating.

I don't wear underwear under my swim suit. In a regular shorts-style suit the mesh liner is good enough to hold stuff in place. I think it would uncomfortable to wear boxers or something under the suit since their material isn't really meant to get wet like that and would get heavy.
