PROM PROPOSAL help?

I need an idea to ask this girl to our Naval Ball( my schools prom) and I would like to here how girls have been asked and for ideas for the guys. Last year I gave a dozen roses and the following ballad to ask the girl.
Once upon a time, there was a boy without a ball
He had a problem he continued to stall

He lacked a date to the prom
It was supposed to be the bomb

So with a friend he devised
A plan where everyone would be surprised

But then a thought came along
And it told him he was wrong

as time passed on and on and on
He felt all hope was gone n

But then he realized perhaps he had a chance
He knew who he would ask to the dance

But he needed to do something with a bit of class
Too bad the only thing he's good at is being an ass

So while he worried about a no.
He decided the easiest way would be to say fuck it wanna go

But that did not work for the girl you see
So lets try this, will you go to naval ball with me

This year I'm asking a different friend.

that is cute :) I don't have yearly prom in my school and absolutely not thrilled to go to my first and final one this April, but this is a poem I wrote just for fun in Valentine's Day 2012. You (and anyone else) are free to steal it, modify it or claim you write it
(tip: using/writing poems to ask a girl out is a make it or break it strategy. Unless the girl has a fair chunk of interest in literary, poems would only make you look like a hapless romantic. But if you know the girl likes reading she'd find it sweeter than sugar)

There is one day in the year
When he would gently ask her
“Be my Valentine,
Spend one day as a girl of mine”
There is one moment in this life of mine
When I look forward to the day of Valentine
Here I am with my heart poured on paper
Ready to love you for ever and after

But unlike what every one else would do
I know I would gently ask you
“Be my Valentine, be my dearest one
Know that to find your prince you need no magic wand
Hear how our souls beautifully rhyme
Believe how I would love you until the end of time
Darling, be my Valentine
Spend one life as a girl of mine”
