Yes, I finally had the guts to make this thread.
And while I don't really consider myself a die hard "witch", Wicca is the closest of the religions/faiths that I identify with.

So if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask! :D

I'm glad that you made the thread. Wicca is not a religion that is commonly talked about. I have taken many courses on world religions and still don't know much about Wicca. Maybe you could start by explaining the basic beliefs?

How do you describe yourself when someone asks your religion? I don’t really know how to explain I’m roman pagan when people ask  was wondering if it’s the same for you.

well that's the thing...Wicca has splintered off into alot of different sub groups over the years, so it's not like we all believe exactly the same things.
But for me, personally, I believe in the divinity of nature. Wicca is often very earth based and nature should be honored and respected. We come from the earth, and one day we will go back to it.
I involve the use of crystals, meditation, prayer, chants, and sigils in my practices. I celebrate the 8 major Sabbats (holidays) of wicca and will often spend alot of time in personal reflection and quiet thinking/meditation on those days. I hope to find a group of other people I can celebrate with in the future.

well, if it's a friend...I'll actually tell them i'm a witch lol. I mean i guess I am, even though I may not take it as seriously as other people. But if it's like a peer, or someone older, I'll just explain that I am Wiccan. Most people don't bother to get much into it after that :P

how do you feel about circle magic?

So have you practiced/tried using any spells? When I was in high school, someone told me they were Wiccan and they said they were trying to learn some magic/spells? I didn't know if they were pulling my leg or if all branches do that or what.

You mean the use of magic circles? Yeah, I've used it before, as well as other ritual drawings and sigils.

No....I haven't actually quite crossed that bridge yet. Like I haven't ever actually cast a specific spell...but I have sent out thought of intent with the lighting of a candle, or the drawing of a ritual circle.

I'll ask a list to help get this going:
(if answers vary amoung wiccans, give us your personal answer)

What holidays do you celebrate and how do you celebrate them?
Do you believe in one or more deities?
How was the earth created?
As a Wiccan, what do you do differently in your day to day life?
Where do you belief that you will go when you die?

I'm practicing Voodoo and it's folk magic based lil sibling Hoodoo. There you will find a great deal of rituals comprising of candles of different colors, oils, drawing circles and creating gris gris or the infamous dolls.
Are there comparable things in your religion, too?
Or we have some sort of sacrifices accompanying our prayers to the spirits and such is there something similar in Wicca, too?

That's cool. One of my teachers said his neighbor is one and to never piss one off. Is that true?

1. I celebrate the eight chief festivals in Wicca... Samhain (Halloween), Winter Solstice, Candlemas, Ostara (spring or Vernal Equinox), Beltaine, Summer Solstice, August Eve, and Harvest Home (the Autumn Equinox).
They are very much based on the seasons and the 8 spoke wheel of the year.
Each festival has a different meaning and purpose for the year, so I celebrate accordingly, usually just spending time in thought and meditation.

2. I do believe in multiple deities, or higher spirits.

3. I honestly don't know. I was raised being taught through science, big bang, all that yada yada yada...but would like to believe that it truly was more of a creation, not just an accident.

4. Not a whole lot really. I wake up, have breakfast, shower, and go to school like any normal teenager. I have friends from all races, sexualities and religions. I have homework almost every day, I enjoy music, movies, TV shows, computer games, dank memes...Anything I do involving my wiccan faith is pretty much done in private.

5. Personally I believe I will return to the earth like my ancestors did and I dunno...become one with everything? Yeah, something like that.

Yes, many Wiccan rituals involve the use of crystals, candles, salt, chalk, drawing circles or sigils. The dolls in wicca are traditionally called poppets, and are used as a tool to direct the energy being cast in your ritual, prayer, or spell to that person. For some more advanced spells, however, you may need something specific belonging to that person...like a string of hair, or piece of clothing.

I think it really depends on what you believe. I believe things like curses are very real. however, personally...when you start to do things that have a malicious intent...you're starting to edge into black magick, and I don't go there.

If you could just go into more detail in #2. Do you believe in several 'higher spirits' that have different positions or tasks? (ex like a God of the Moon)

Is there a relation to ancient Samaria (Sumar) religions and Wicca?

Ancient Sumar is known to be the cradle of civilization.

Not as far as I know. 'Wicca" is actually very new, but it does have its roots in witchcraft, and many ancient western pagan beliefs...celtic, norse mythology, greek and roman mythology, the druids, etc.

How does Wicca reconcile with the more advanced scientific theories about the universe, the kind of stuff Stephen Hawking workeed on. Like how the universe is slowly dying very very slowly etc?

What do you think the spells actually can do?
What do you do regularly that makes you a witch? Like rituals or something?
