(Not sure if this post is good in Puberty for All or fits more in Relationships or Dating)

As you saw from the title, I get attracted to anime girls and sometimes develop feelings towards some, but I can't explain why. Also, I look at a lot of hentai.

PS: Yes, I'm attracted to real girls as well.

Is anyone in the same boat?
Is this normal?

Everyone has their own likes and interests. There is nothing wrong with enjoying anime and hental. Just don't go overboard and start living your life in a fantasy world.

The reason this happens is because of a psychological trick in the brain caused by marketing and psyching yourself out to create a chemical-emotional response from the illusion that they are real in your brain.

Not to mention the male brain specifically is designed to appreciate a certain mathematical facial and body shape of the female, a trick animators and even magazine model ad makers exploit.

In a similar fashion, humanity almost universally finds all babies cute which immediately triggers an “awe; nurturing response”, the brain is wired to associate round shapes and chubby little bodies as appealing and cute so as to maximize the care we’ll give them.

Problem is media is easier than real socialization and Japan is suffering partly because Japanese men aren’t dating real women, it’s easier to be attracted to a one-dimensional illusion who doesn’t judge or ask for a relationship where a real-give-n-take relationship dynamic is at play.

The writing and personification is designed for emotional bonding, but those personalities are scripted, scripted for you to be attached, so then you’ll buy merchandise.

It’s a form of mind control.

You make a good point, for me, I'm attracted to real girls as well, So I don't need to worry about myself dating fake girls.

Did you just know this stuff, or did you do research?

Did you just know this stuff, or did you do research?

I had a school project on how advertisers advertise to children in 8th grade, and I just applied and accumulated more knowledge and awareness and applied the concepts learned to other areas of human interaction.

You start to see commonalities and if you connect the dots to what high school psychology and biology classes teach together you start linking the concepts together to real life situations.

Then you just start being able to see everyday interactions with parents and friends differently than others.
