Best Friend and girlfriend

My best friend Alec is in a relationship with a girl who's named Gab since 2 years. She is now one of my best friend too and an important person for me. Lately I knew that Alec want to broke up with her but I know that she was realy in love with him and she'll be destroyed if that happened and she would probably leave our gang. And I dont want. So I don't know if I have to choice one of them or just let it happened. It worries me.

That's hard. But look you have a right to not take either side, and go comfort whomever you want, but definitely don't force social experiences where both of them are in close proximity to one another.

They're gonna need space, this seems like a nasty breakup.

Its best for you not to take sides and just let things take their own course. If they do break up it doesnt mean you still cant be friends with both of them independent of your gang.

I wouldn't take any sides either. If you do you would be like walking into quicksand. You could lose both of them as friends too. Stay aloof and let them work out their problems.
