What does "Balls Dropping" mean?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. But I have heard people including my friends when we talk about puberty, the term "Balls Dropping" is mentioned a lot. What does this mean and when does it occur?

I don’t think it’s like I physical thing like one day you wake up with bigger dropped balls but it refers to the time when your naps suddenly get bigger and also coincides with your voice dropping but not always it’s more of slang than science but it means like developed so “ my balls of dropped “ basically means I’m going through the next stage of puberty if that makes sense

It’s slang for hitting puberty. When you are in your mothers womb, your testicles are inside your body and fall into your scrotum when you are born. They normally stay up close to your penis until puberty. During puberty, your scrotum with loosen up, and may seem to be hanging down more. That’s what it means. When your testicles drop, your body will be able to produce sperm, allowing you to make babies. You will notice this if you know you’ve hit puberty. And it’s not the most sudden thing. It’s quite subtle. You normally notice it when you see a younger brother or younger child naked. For me, I realized it when I was my younger brother’s penis, I realized that my testicles hung down.

If you can notice, your balls have been much farther down or more separated to your body comapred to when your like 8 or 9, a sign that they’re growing and will probably produce much more sperm than before. As I've understood it, one of the earliest changes in puberty is that your scrotum thins and grows and your testicles do, too. But your penis hasn't started growing at all yet. So, for maybe just 4-6 months, your penis is still the size it was when you were 10 but your scrotum is hanging a LOT lower and your nuts are maybe already 50% bigger than they were when when you were 11. That sure would look like "your balls had dropped".

Yeah some baby boys are born and their testicles haven't descended into the scrotum or sac yet. Usually they will drop but sometimes it requires surgery.

Your scrotum can contract or expand depending on a lot of factors, such as puberty, core body temperature, or even stomach upset.
Your testicles will just start to hang lower as you progress through puberty, but can occasionally contract in response to stimuli. One way you could notice this difference if you were to wake up when it's very cold in your room, and then hop into a hot shower.

That's a vasectomy. Castration is something a little more brutal

"Balls Dropping" means when the testicles can produce sperm.The scrotum becomes looser during puberty to maximize sperm and testosterone production. But, the body also protects sperm by tightening up the scrotum when cold to conserve heat.

But to answer the question as you go into puberty your scrotum expands and your testicles appear larger....a sure sign of puberty, but unlike the New Years Eve Countdown ball they just don't have a sudden countdown and "plop" down.
