I'm just obsessed with this movie. I saw it in theatres a week and a half ago and it was amazing. The plot, the casting, and the music is excellent. I've been listening to the soundtrack for the last 1.5 weeks.
Has anyone else seen it and what are your thoughts?

I saw it a while ago, my buddy and I went not knowing it was a musical and wondered why there were so few guys watching it at the cinema. Then we got why after the first song. To say I don't like musicals, I liked this one. The music was good, different to usual and I liked the comical aspects. The actors chosen were really good and I think for some each song might resonate (not with me personally).

One of my favorite movies. Some musicals aren't very interesting to me, but this one was just perfect in my opinion.

I saw it on the cruise on the big screen I was on last week. I didn’t know anything about it. And yeah it was pretty entertaining

The Greatest Showman is one of my favorite movies of all times. In early June, I saw it for the 25th time and stopped counting and since then I imagine I'm over 40 views and probably approaching 50.
To be honest, I'd love to call it a 10/10 because that's how it makes me feel personally. I truly believe that for the young people of our generation there is no better message for them to hear. You matter, you have dreams, and you can realize your dreams. It's a vital message when there is so much unnecessary confusion about who we are meant to be.
The movie gives me chills and makes me want to bust out in song every time I watch it. "The Greatest Show", "A Million Dreams", "Come Alive", and "From Now On" are SO GOOD every single time. I mean, come on. It's incredible music. And very rhythmic. The music is *fun*.
Also,
I think Hugh Jackman gives the performance of his career in this film. He has gone on record stating that he prepared for only one other role as much as he did the role of P.T. Barnum and that role was Logan from the X-Men movies. He has also said that part of that preparation was reading 3.5 dozen books about P.T. Barnum so he does have a genuine awareness of the man, and that gives credence to the authenticity of his performance. So yes.
But,
Upon watching my Blu-ray copy a week ago with my sister I caught some glaring make-up errors and I have always had issues with two scenes of CGI that prevent The Greatest Showman from reaching the coveted "perfect movie" status. It is a 9.5/10 and that half point is the result of 40+ viewings and some errors that I cannot ignore. Maybe I'll change my mind though, because it DID take 40+ DVD viewings and 2 Blu-ray viewings to catch the make-up errors. But the CGI was something I took issue with from day one.
So,
The movie is a 10/10 to me personally.
But if I'm being harsh, judging with no bias, and critiquing it *as a movie*, The Greatest Showman is either a 9/10 or a 9.5/10.
It's an exceptional movie and one of the best ever made.
