The Preacher in my church once told all of the kids between 11-17 that our parents could send us to hell. He said that our parents have to confess to God if they think we are good and obedient children who deserves redemption or not. Even extending into adult hood if our parents pass before we do God will ask them if we have lead good lives like our parents wanted us too.
Personally I think it is a load of bullshit but I was still I was still wondering if anyone else has ever been told this.

I've been raised since birth in a fundamental Christian church, and I have never heard this doctrine before. I've been taught that parents will be in part responsible for their child's actions if they failed to raise them properly (like if their child steals because they never properly taught him/her that stealing is wrong), but that doesn't involve the child's salvation.
What I've been taught is that a child who is not yet capable of understanding right and wrong is granted salvation if they die during that period. A toddler for instance would go to Heaven, because they are simply too young to accept or deny salvation personally. Once you reach the age where you do understand morality, it is then your choice to accept salvation or not. A parent cannot give or take away your salvation, a parent cannot send you to Hell.
So no, I do not think that is right. The next time you hear someone say that, just ask them to show you that in the Bible. There is nothing Biblically to back that up.

That Pastor is a false preacher/teacher. Parents do not determine your salvation. They do not get to decide if you go to Heaven or Hell based on whether or not you lived up to their expectations.
To be sure, the OT and the NT both command children to honor and obey their parents, but that does not mean parents determine one's salvation.
In certain denomination/religion, it was believed (maybe still is) if a child/baby wasn't baptized they could/would go to Hell and while I don't believe that to be true either, it is technically different from what the pastor was saying.
There is no merit to that teaching whatsoever.

I have never heard of such a rule. And it makes no sense when you think about it. This has God staying out of salvation and your parents taking his place. I've never heard of it before. Just keep in mind that there will be a day when you can make your own decisions on religion. Hopefully you will raise your kids the right way.

I agree, this is bullshit.
I am a Christian, and was never taught this idealogy. What I know is that our parents are responsible to guide us in to being a person who is good, a person who can make the right decisions. Only God can judge and bring salvation to us.

The way that my preacher says it is that God takes into account the type of person are parents try and shape us to be and if we do not live up to our parents standard of good Christians then we are punished.

That sounds like the typical response of religious leaders who are more concerned with the power of their position than any kind of actual concern for their followers. Using religion as a club to beat people into submission early in their lives is the easiest way to ensure that they'll have power for years to come. We get that a lot here too. I haven't heard that specific line of "reasoning" from our preacher, but I would not be surprised to hear it.
All I can say is just try to live your life in a way where you're always making an effort to be the best person you can be by the standards that you believe in. That's all any of us can do.

It is a lie. There isn't scripture supporting that view.
Here's another reason why it's a lie. God's all-knowing, why would he have to ask your parents anything about you.
That pastor is an antichrist, understand you have to attend his church out of ritual, but KNOW resist all brainwashing interpretation of his view on the bible.
Read the bible yourself and do a comparison to what he says and what the bible says.
I believe you said you were Baptist?

I disagree, Christianity has truth to it, including the supernatural stuff.
The more we look at the weird understanding of quantum physics that then opens the door to an academic study of rudimentary of universal design, quantum entanglement, and warping of space-time....you begin to realize some of what we consider supernatural impossible are possible given that the laws of physics bend a certain way.
Look I into some UFO abductee testimonials too! In cases where they accosted by men in black post-supernatural phenomena, they have scared people by materializing and dematerializing matter.
Do not be judgmental of supernatural phenomena, they occur and that's all that's described in the bible.
