I’m having an existential crisis right now. I’ve been giving life in general a lot of thought. Why am I here? Why are any people here on planet earth? The entire concept of the universe is honestly kind of just now hitting me. It’s not so much the idea that we’re small and insignificant that I’ve been thinking about, it’s mainly why am I here. I view life as pointless overall. Like there’s no point to living exceptnto have a good time and make the most of it, but even that very idea bothers me... like if could do anything, like anything from taking a nice walk in the park to fucking Kate Upton in a high-rise Los Angeles hotel suite: none of it matters. Making “the most” of your time here on Earth to me, has no value. If I was 100 years old and lived a life of partying and having a great time till the end it then that’s great. If I lived to be 100 and I scraped by my entire life, then that’s not so great, but both ofnhose scenarios have no meaning. I’m afraid that I’ll be like 70 years old with nothing to show even though I believe that it’s impossible to have anything to show and have that mean anything.

The point of life is to leave this planet, and the 7 billion people on it, better than it/they were when you got here. Your efforts don't have to be felt in other galaxies to leave behind a great legacy. And no, you don't have to be one of the few people written about in history books to accomplish that. Just because the universe is big doesn't mean that our planet is small.

Why are any people here on planet earth?
As far as I know, it's the only planet with chocolate :)
On a more serious note... It's the little things, like chocolate or sunshine, that make moments enjoyable. And it's the big things, like love or kindness, that make this life worth living.

Well 3.8 billion years ago when Earth was still a toxic shithole life appear we don't know how, and after billions of years of evolution and extinction here we are. We are on Earth because this is the only planet in the solar system capable of supporting complex life forms, for now.

Life sucks. The only reason I'm still alive is for my family.

God is the Father of our spirits. We are literally His children, and He loves us. We lived as spirit children of our Father in Heaven before we were born on this earth. We were not, however, like our Heavenly Father, nor could we ever become like Him and enjoy all the blessings that He enjoys without the experience of living in mortality with a physical body.
God’s whole purpose--His work and His glory--is to enable each of us to enjoy all His blessings. He has provided a perfect plan to accomplish His purpose. We understood and accepted this plan before we came to the earth. In the scriptures God’s plan is called a merciful plan, the plan of happiness, the plan of redemption, and the plan of salvation.
