View Full Version : Bra Cup Size

Is it weird being a seventeen-year-old cup A in the middle of today's society? Is there even a way to raise breast size? I do wear a cup B now but I'm like at the very far end of the size range. I used to browse around but the methods I found are rather weird (sit-ups? really?). If you're a cup A, how old are you and are you happy with it? May I ask what's your bra size and how do you feel? Thanks a lot xx

I'm a B-cup, but a very small person so they look bigger. I'm fine with the size, I don't want them much bigger.
It may be slightly unusual, but there's nothing wrong with it. The only ways to get bigger is to gain weight (all over your body and it will go to your boobs - notice how bigger people have bigger breasts) or to have it done surgically. Don't worry about it too much. I'm sure you are very beautiful, A cup, B cup, or DD cup.

Too many people worry about their bra cup size, I personally don't see what a lot of the fuss is about. I am a C cup (and 14) and personally am happy with the way I am!

Well try not to be paranoid but it is normal to want to feel confident in your own body :)

i'm 15 and also an a cup. it's normal. there's no normal or abnormal breast size, nor is there a good or bad breast size. the great thing about boobs, I think, is how diverse they are in shape and size.
you could end up going up a cup size in the future though. boobs don't stop growing until you're about 21.
I've tried many ways to get bigger boobs and nothing worked. i just stopped caring about their size at that point.

Estrogen raises breast size, along with weight gain, and there are chest/arm exercises you can do to make them a LITTLE bigger (No, like seriously, I have this theory about breasts that I'll share at the end. So far it has worked somewhat for me.) but aside from estrogen, there's really no way to increase their size significantly.
HOWEVER, a doctor giving someone estrogen on the SOLE basis of breast development is literally unheard of. It will mess with your hormone levels if your hormone levels were healthy and fine before. (which is most likely unless you're experiencing serious health issues right now, growing facial hair or something noticeable like that.)
"The pill" does have female hormones- but usually progesterone, which to my knowledge doesn't really make boobs grow.
I'm personally a 34D, but due to my size (6'0) they look like mid-size B-cups, or maybe small Cs. You don't usually realize how big they are until the shirt comes off. (Ehehe) Thing is, before recently (a few months ago), the stupid things were nearly an entire cup size apart. This made bra shopping difficult to say the least...
(This is where boob theory comes in)
Well, we women (and really, most of the population) tend to use one hand more than the other. Typically speaking, we're not ambidextrous, and even if we CAN use both hands, it's unlikely that we WILL. (Usually your brain will just pick one, because you would literally have poor motor skills for far longer if while you were developing, you had to train both arms as equals. Look how long it took you to learn to write neatly with ONE hand.)
Certain movements of the arm exercise muscles in the top of the chest. (I'd say sit ups wouldn't do a thing- pushups, however, would.) At my job it was just more convenient to do a lot of majorly physical things with my left hand (like opening a heavy window constantly) just because of where everything was set up. So I just decided to use my left arm a lot more, and see what happened.
I figured, what if the reason (or one of them) that women's breasts are not the same size is because of the arm they predominantly use? Your arm exercises muscles in your chest some times- your non-dominant arm is not used as often- therefore neither are those muscles.
So I tested this out for a few months, and it worked for me as far as I can tell. My breasts look much closer in size, though it's still fairly easy to tell which one is bigger. It's just not in your face obvious, and I don't have to worry about the bra I wear gaping on one side or falling out the other.
HOWEVER, I can't guarantee that working out these chest muscles will increase size- breasts are fat and mammary glands, not muscle. However, in theory, the top of the breast and such would increase in size a little bit. But even if you did exercises like this a lot, I doubt you'd grow a full cup size, though I could be wrong.
The thing is that this was a personal experiment, and while to my knowledge my logic behind it makes sense (I've thrown the idea around to a few people before) like, I haven't done studies. This was just my experience. In order to truly test my theory, I'd have to get women of all different chest sizes, and variations of breast size ratio (one breast to the other) along with several months and knowledge that my subjects would DO THEIR FREAKING EXERCISE! :D
So yeah, don't get your hopes up TOO much, however, this has worked for me, and it could be somewhat helpful.
But yeah, the thing is about breasts is that they're fat and mammary glands. A cup women tend to have smaller mammaries.
I mean, for instance, I'm fairly underweight, but my breasts are reasonably sized- mammary glands make up MOST of my breast size. They're actually really heavy and big and it's kind of freaky ;w;
Fat stores in the breasts as a cushion for pregnancy, and to sort of reinforce our health. If we get sick and lose weight, we use the fat in our breasts to sustain us sometimes. (Why the heck can't that work for tummies?!? [in all seriousness though, your body will take fat from anywhere, so tummy or boob it just depends on what your body does.])
Also I've heard body fat (especially in women) has some influence on immune system- too low body fat or too high body fat weakening the immune system. And it makes sense, because I used to be horridly underweight, and I was sick constantly. I gained weight, didn't get sick for almost a year, got sick, lost a ton of weight, sick more often.
A good breast size has nothing to do with cup size, or band size. Good breast size means you have a fair amount of fat in ratio to your mammaries. Women are supposed to have fat there- it's not only arguably attractive, it's healthy.
Also, there are ways to change your body shape and gain weight without gaining a lot of inches or getting "big" if that's what you're concerned about. You work on gaining muscle. If you have the right amount of fat and muscle in your body, sometimes your breasts will kind of even out.
HOWEVER, gaining weight (unless drastic, especially with gaining muscle alongside it- because you will actually lose some fat in your breasts, along with the rest of your body before you could gain it, I imagine) and exercises really will not raise your breast size significantly.
However, at 17, you're still in puberty. You're over the hump- the 'teenage' hormones are over (most likely, I'm 17, and mine are), and the 'adult' ones come in and smooth everything over, your brain fully develops, etc.
So while I would say even with puberty still being an issue, and even if you exercised and stuff, you probably wouldn't change significantly, maybe just a cup size.
However, pregnancy will uh, definitely increase breast size. More hormones.
So even if you didn't do much right now, your breasts could still grow somewhat. It wouldn't be unheard of for you to end up being a C-cup, or possibly even a small D-cup in the long run if you ended up having kids. (Via pregnancy, of course!) And even if you didn't, you could end up being a C. You never know.

Bra size is like penis size...who cares? It's the way God made you, but doesn't define who you are as a person.

As WisenUpJanetWeiss said, doing chest exercises can help make your breasts look bigger. By increasing the size of your pectoral muscles you will create a small lift that will make your breasts look bigger. I used to do that a couple of years back when I was just a B cup. I noticed them looking a bit bigger, but then again it could have been natural growth. I then had a sudden breasts growth and I am now a D cup. You are only 17 and are not finish growing which means that in the next couple of years you can also have a sudden growth just like me. I wouldn't be worried.
