This one girl

Okay, so there's this girl. She's really sweet, kinda crazy, yet really vulnerable at the same time. I have gotten to know her over the past few months and i kind of really like her. The thing is, she's a freshman... im a junior (girl). I kinda am worried that the age difference could be a bad thing. I really want to ask her out but should i probably avoid asking to avoid any potential problems?

A two year age gap is really small in the long run. This type of thing is usually only an issue if you make it one. If you proceed as if there is no issue, than there probably won't be. You may have a brief conversation about it, as long as you don't expect respect (as an elder) in the relationship and she doesn't follow you around like a lost puppy the two of you will be fine.

I can understand that a 2-year gap can look like it is "huge" as we're younger but as you'll get older, 2 year is like a "normal" difference

I see no issue with this age gap at all. If you like her, and want to ask her out, I wouldn't think this minor age difference would be a good enough reason to avoid asking her.
