I know some guys are concerned about popping boners during a physical, but for me it's the complete opposite. I suffer major shrinkage and, since my penis isn't big to start, I turtle up until just the head is showing. My doctor and nursing staff are fairly attractive women, and I'm sure they have had to notice the drastic proportions on an otherwise average teenage guy. Anyone else have this kind of problem??

Sometimes people get shrinkage when its cold. Thats not really a problem in the doctors office i go to.

I will shrink in the cold or if I am really scared or super nervous about something. Maybe that's it. You could be really nervous about your exam.

It happens like boners. Could b many
reasons-anxiety of the exam-cold room
the usual. There is nothing to b ashamed
by it and doctors and nurses have seen
most of everything so it doesn't matter.

Stan0120 I have said for years on here that it's hard to get boners when nervous and I'm pretty sure you are the first person who has agreed with me. Most people will be a little nervous getting undressed (in the locker room, at the doctors, at a nude beach, before sex the first time, etc. Even going to see the doctor and not getting naked can be nervous. Playing sports makes people nervous.

The body is in fight or flight mode when playing sports and when scared (nervous). No damn way will it send blood to your dick if you are trying to win a game or win a race. It needs to send blood to your muscles, lungs, heart, and brain!!! Same with any nervous condition. In fact not only is your sending blood where it NEEDS it, but it is protecting your penis! The smaller your penis is (if it retracts as small as possible) that is the safest place for it!!!

I am lucky in that I am anywhere from 2-5.6 inches soft s even if the doctor (or someone at a nude beach) sees me in my smallest state it's not completely embarrassing. If a person is small to start off with like you there's not a lot you can do. Maybe after you get there and before your name is called go to the restroom and play with it a bit to make it semi hard and hope it stays close to that until you see the doctor and nurses. imagine they are naked and like I said just hope it doesn't shrivel much. But if it does, they have literally seen it all so don't care.

I think we need to remember that medical people have probably seen THOUSANDS of guy's genitals, so I'd bet they never even really notice. (Unless you're like 11 inches long and naked it's touching your knee cap, or something like that.)

And as soon as they move to the next exam room and patient, you are a distant memory. It's not like they dwell on the body parts of patients. It's way more clinical than that.

Really I would't worry about it. It also happens in swim class and is no big deal.

The way that only the head is exposed might not be size related. You might have been circumcised with a bit of skin still left.

Mine doesn’t shrink but it’s small anyway and the doctors often comment on the size... how small are you?

Thanks for all the replies guys! Tbh, I think it's just nerves of getting naked in front of women I don't know that well. In locker room situations or with my gf it's never been too much of an issue.
Baggins11, I'm 1.5" before shrinkage, so probably under 1" during the exam.

Oh right... have the doctors ever mentioned it?

First time I went (like 14), she asked me if this was its normal size, and she told me guys come in all sizes. Second time, doc was busy so her assistant and nurse saw me. When she saw it, she said not to be nervous and that she had seen little guys before. The nurse grinned a little when she said this, but otherwise they've acted pretty casual about it.

The first time I went (14 as well probably) the doctor brought in like 5 other people to check it was normal! I was probably only an inch and a half then

Doctors have seen it all. From small to big, from skinny to thick. They won't care

Yes, it is normal for it to happen when you are cold. Heat helps blood flow, and flow makes blood flow slower.

Was that the first time you knew it was small, or did you know before that visit?
