The only one was a Broadway musical that I saw on a school trip into NYC. It was mostly because I got to see my future wife (Sara Bareilles) preform live so that was pretty lit

I'm a big fan of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and it's sequel Shock Treatment. High Society is a super neat classic watch. Annie's enjoyable too. My favourite though has got to be Grease 2!...What's everyone looking at me like that for? I swear it's actually really good! ;)

I do not like musicals. They get these annoying songs stuck in my head for days. If I had to pick my fav one it would be The Sound of Music because there is a historical background and i like History.

Normally no, but I've found one I like which is the greatest showman. I think for it's comedy more than anything.

"The Greatest Showman" is most certainly a musical aha, and a great one too! Although it's music is more modern pop mixed with musical rather than just musical and some people just don't like that, I disagree and I love it!
My school are currently doing "Ghost: The Musical" and I'm playing the Hospital Ghost, last year we did "West Side Story" and my sister played Maria!
In short: I freakin' love musicals :D.

Well articulated, I think that is why I prefer this musical, it fits almost into a different genre for me. One that more expresses the music I prefer

I love the inspiring part of the music, it's really overpowering and the choreography is amazing by it's self! Listening to the music via Spotify/Deezer is one thing but watching the movie is an other!
Dance can really charge and buzz everyone up and when I went to see it 3 weeks ago at the cinema I almost cried from the feels!

I got to be in West Side Story and it was pretty cool. My ultimate favourite would have to be Les Miserables tho. It is just done so well! I find Into the Woods quite fascinating too haha. I like musicals a fair bit too!

Discovered the musical Venice the other day and I'm loving it.
There's the super new off-broadway 'Ernest Shackleton Loves Me' which is absolutely incredible, definitely one of my favourites right now.

I like musicals for sure; I was just in my school's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
I've also been in Guys and Dolls, Putnam County Spelling Bee, and a few others. Never any big parts, but I've always enjoyed it.

My personal favorite is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Back when I was in 5th grade my current high school did it, and I'm pretty sure that's one of the primary things that got me into theatre.

Can't say I'm big on musicals, with exception of West Side Story. Love that one.

A lot of straight guys around my area don't, but I love them (mostly cause I took part in them during high school). I can't really pick a favorite, but here is a semi-short list:
Newsies
Phantom (duh)
Book of Mormon
Wicked
Come From Away
The Addams Family (it has such an undeserved bad reputation)

I don't like musicals that much because the singing parts don't seem to be natural. In real life, how often do you walk down the street or go someplace and see/hear people singing a song about what's going on with them? But having said this, I saw Hamilton and liked it a lot.

Yes for me a musical is my ultimate form of fantasy in terms of expressing emotions. Its not realistic but more hyperbolic idealism.
I love a lot of musicals but only get to watch them on youtube since most of the theater trends in the country lately involve a lot of spoken word. And only there are only a few of them being shown at this one casino hotel. But I do watch them as much as I can.

I think you should watch bo burnham's material, it may change your mind.
Everyone here that says the don't like musicals, should give this a shot.

I spent a long time making this thread about Bo, it helps to show the deeper meaning under his music in a bunch of his songs. I will be adding more to the list. Check it out, he is a genius.

Some are OK, I love Phantom. But many are too far-fetched like West Side Story, because in real life people don't do choreographed dances in the streets like that.
