My friend Timmy just asked me out on a date!! I've been best friends with him since the 5th grade!! We're going out nxt Sat. Not sure where we're going yet though but it's gonna be so much fun :D

Nice! Do you see him in a way where he can be a potential bf? Or is it a friends date? Or just keeping your options open and see how the date goes?

Congrats! I think the awesome part is that you have been friends since 5th grade and have grown together a FRIENDS....my bf and I have been best friends since 4th grade, but didn't go out or get together until a year an a half ago as Juniors in HS...the best part is we knew all about each other which not only made it fun, but very comfortable...

Thanks everyone for the kind words!! The date went really well!! Went out to dinner. Then went ice skating and saw a movie after!!!

Guys will do that, with the paying thing. It's one of those things where later in the relationship that's a separate discussion about what's fair and where relationship boundaries are and how this changes the friendship.

But best of luck to you two and hopefully you can make it last!
