NudistFun. What's the point of Nudism?

NudistFun
January 2nd, 2018, 08:34 PM
The point is to experience things nude that make sense to experience nude. Things like swimming etc that everyone generally agrees is great to do naked but without the stigma of judgement. Feeling the sun and the breeze on your skin.

Nudists view clothing as functional and necessary but only in instances where it makes sense.

Is there any age restriction for Nudism?

Is skinny dipping with your friends considered nudism? I like swimming naked with boys but would never be nude round girls.

Eh, not really. Sort of like driving is part of racing but not all drivers are race car drivers.

And why not around girls? I'd hate to not be able to hang out with my guy friends in the pool.

Some resorts are 18+ only unless with a parent but most allow all of ages. Nude beaches have no age restrictions and of course your home is your home =)

Do you think that being a nudist is for everyone or are some people more modest (like me) and not able to get used to going around naked?

It's available to everyone but the key is desire to try it. I've seen people with huge body hangups try it and be freed from their insecurities.

So I think it can be for everyone but not everyone will try it or let themselves be open to it.

Would you like to share about Nudist Etiquette? at home or in social nudity experience.
and what the longest time you did not wearing clothes?
I've read some people here can go weeks or half month without clothes during holiday.

Sure!

Home Etiquette and beach/resort can be a little different.

Beach/Resort

You always bring a towel to sit on no matter where you are.
When meeting new people it is natural to check them out but then you maintain eye contact as much as possible, which becomes natural.
Women/girls can wear bottoms at most places if they are on their period or simply cut the tampon string if they are worried about people seeing it.
Depending on age (later teens) guys are encouraged, if they get aroused, to cover up with a towel, roll over on their stomachs, or jump into the water. This doesn't happen as often as most people think but it can happen.
That's really about it.

Home etiquette can differ a bit.. mostly everything still applies but I've found guys are more likely to get an erection at home where they are comfortable just like non nudist boys do. Most families and friends understand this and don't require them to hide as long as they aren't being a weirdo with it.

I've gone about half a month or so during the summer at the house or on trips to nudist resorts/beaches :)

If naturism/nudism is about naturalness and suchlike, does that mean that involuntary erections aren't allowed? Also, where do you get a chance to go nude?

Some do background checks before they allow you to visit. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to spot people that are creeps because they either do not get nude or they clearly are excited all the time or are just weird and don't generally last very long in the environment before they are ejected.

If someone gets a boner, is it awkward or natural for them?

I've gotten a boner while skinny dipping with girls, was traumatic.

How was it traumatic? And it's usually natural unless they are being annoying or threatening about it. Amongst friends, nobody really cares and may have a laugh but among strangers or by yourself with people, you don't know around you should usually cover up, go for a swim, or roll onto your tummy.

If naturism/nudism is about naturalness and suchlike, does that mean that involuntary erections aren't allowed? Also, where do you get a chance to go nude?

Involuntary erections depend on the context and each venue is different in how they prefer people handle them (no pun intended)

And I get a chance most of the year at beaches, homes, and resorts. I live in Florida :)

It's freeing, it helps me get over my own body insecurities by putting them out in the world and also seeing that everyone else is not perfect and that's okay. It's also more comfortable in certain situations, like swimming or on a hot day.

NudistFun
January 6th, 2018, 12:06 PM
How does people react to you in Nudist Beaches?

Most people that frequent them often just go about their business or say hello and chat, or just smile and nod. There are, of course, creepers that try to get too close, touch themselves (they get kicked out) or try to hit on me. That's rare though, especially if I go with friends or family.

What would happen if I got an erection whilst being nude in a camp? Would people judge me

Depends on what you were doing when it happened and how you reacted. If you were amongst friends and it was spontaneous or a girl was flirting with you, as long as you didn't touch yourself or flaunt it nobody would care, otherwise, you would want to grab a towel, lay on your tummy, or jump in a pool.

I’m just reading this thread now, and I’ll chime in and say this is good quality info. I’ve been to some clothing optional place with my family and friends, and it’s a very different environment than when at home or in your Home city.

It is very freeing, liberating, yes clothes are like a status symbol in our lives. Think about that. Now remove that, and everyone’s the same. Regardless of age size gender or sexual orientations, nobody’s judged, and if they are, the ones doing the judging are run out or basiclly shunned

Sexual stimulation is part of it, it’s common, and a normal bodily function. If you get one, don’t go walking around showing it off, that’s not cool. Just sit down and cover it up with a towel till it goes away

Believe me my first time being nude with total strangers felt really weird. But once your nude for about 5 mins you feel like you fit right in. Cause if you wear clothes you’ll stand out

But also social nudity isn’t for everyone

Good job to the OP

Depends on the friends. Most, just stay nude. If they are uncomfortable, cover up.

Do you think it would be hard to adjust to the nudist lifestyle for people who are raised in a conservative way?

I don't think I would do well in nudist beaches because I will probably be overwhelmed by the fact that everybody including me is naked, and I would probably have an erection all the time.

I see nothing wrong with it. Also in nudist areas nobody is forcing you to be naked, which is nice. Still, would not embrace it because I think that only people who I trust and respect should see my skin. I see it as an intimate thing.

Plenty of conservative people become nudists. The key is realizing that if you enjoy being nude alone but balk at the prospect of being nude around others, the problem is in your mind.

At a nude beach, you might be excited for a bit, but I assure you it wouldn't last long.

You only live once! Try it. It's not harmful :)

I'm asking because I'm interested, and my family see me naked a lot in the house after taking a shower and stuff like that, but I'm not sure how they will react if I had lunch naked for example, or sit on the couch to watch TV naked, etc.

December 20th 2015 your penis was 8 inches

Feb 14th 2017 you were a little over 7 inches.

So it shrank over two years?

Most of your posts (which are very very few for someone who has been a member since 2015) are preoccupied with penis size and your username is Dirk Diggler.

Come on man. Nobody is buying it.

I'll answer your question just so those reading and are truly interested in this will know.

No, it's just as impolite to stare in nudist society as it is in clothed.

Hey you!!

I think you already have a leg up on most people that want to try it since your family already sees you nude regularly.

You can ease into it by just being nude in more situations at home slowly and see how it goes. If for some reason they act strange about it, you can explain that you enjoy being nude at home and you feel like if you should be able to be comfortable anywhere then it should be at home.

If they still reject it then, unfortunately, you'll have to wait until you're out of the house. But it's a great way to live!! :)

And funny thing I found is that the most insecure about their body is younger boy below 12 and older man above 50s. )

What I mean with this is: nudism is not exhibitionism. I bet you wouldn't want your nude pic all over the internet, so why would she?

I know I would lol :P

I would say stay naked longer after the shower. Or, if you're not yet feeling that comfortable, "just" wear a bathrobe that happens to open up when you're watching tv or eating. Or wear only panties. Just to see the reaction of your family and let them get used to you being (more or less) naked in other situations that don't usually involve nudity in your household.
And if (if!) they say something about it, try to shrug like you don't care or say/mumble something like "I'm comfortable like this" and pretend the conversation is over. They very well might shrug themselves after a few tries to get you to cover up and just leave you be.

Is there any age restriction for Nudism?

kinda depends on where you go. often there are rules about takening pictures, especially taking picture of kids. At some places people wear wrist bands of different colors that mean different things, and kids wear a color that means they can't have their picture taken without parents saying its OK. Some people wear a band that means no pictures.

also, there are rules that swimsuits are not allowed in the pool or sauna.

at family places there's no sex stuff anywhere outside.

some places certain people are not allowed, like people who have done sex crimes.

Maybe you don't have to tell your family. You are 17, and soon I assume, you will be living on your own. I mean in an ideal world we should be able to tell our parents EVERYTHING. But I know I haven't been able to. I have been at a nude resort twice and I should've had parental signature but I forged it. There is no way I could tell my parents I have been to a nude resort let alone the nude beaches and clothing optional hot springs I have been to. But if you have the courage to tell your parents you want to try to live a nudist lifestyle I think that's awesome! Would you be up to doing that at home? Like sitting on the couch and watching TV naked?

Laura, you don't list how old you are, but I'll be 16 next month and although I've never been to any nudist events there is a secret part of me that would LOVE to try it. Seriously. (But my big fear, as I think any non-nudist raised boy would also fear, is getting erections. What do teenage boys do at nudist events when they get an erection??)
As for a bf, how much of your time or life do you or would you spend nude? Like pretty much all the time when you're at home? Or is this more of an occasional thing. I think for a bf that would make a huge difference.

And teens get erections regardless of if they are clothed or not. Generally, if you aren't somewhere among friends you've known a while, you should grab a towel, roll over on your stomach, go for a swim, or excuse yourself until it subsides. As long as you don't touch it or prance around you'll be fine.

And for me I spend as much as possible, especially at home, but also beaches, resorts, friends homes, etc

This is the single most asked question about nudism.

Beyond a teen boner for no reason, erections at nudist venues are rare.

It sounds impossible, but it's true. And if you get one, you wrap with a towel, roll over, or swim. It's easy :)

Are you then saying that of you are among friends you know well that it's ok to not grab a towel or the other things? Like if a boy is with 6 friends eating or playing volleyball or pretty much anything and got an erection Its acceptable to just keep doing what he's doing (as long as people he doesn't know well aren't around)?

My other questions are about you:
1. What age did you start being a nudist?
2. What age did you start going to a nude resort?
3. Do you live at a nude resort or do you have a cabin at one or do you camp at one or do you just go for the day and never stay overnight?
4. What percent of your classmates know you are a nudist?
5. How many of your classmates have joined you at a nude resort? How many have joined you being nude at your home?
6. What is your experience with nude resort open houses and special events? Do you stay away from them or attend them? The only two times I went to a nude resort was for a special event open house and I asked the few teens who were there why there weren't more teens and was told many teens stay off grounds or inside because they are uncomfortable naked among strangers, especially boys who may more easily get hard.

How as the MeToo movement affected the general culture of nudism?

Are there abuse stories that have come out that are now being shared?

Does the culture have a power structure of do's and don't and how is that enforced?

I am saying it depends on the friend group. In my experience, if it is just myself and a group of friends that know each other well nobody has a problem with a random erection as long as it isn't obviously salacious in nature. Each group of friends or family will be different. Around my house, we think nothing of erections. If you can't be comfortable home then where can you be?

1. What age did you start being a nudist? Born this way
2. What age did you start going to a nude resort? I don't remember, but fairly early.
3. Do you live at a nude resort or do you have a cabin at one or do you camp at one or do you just go for the day and never stay overnight? We don't own property at a resort but we do visit frequently and sometimes camp or get a room and stay overnight
4. What percent of your classmates know you are a nudist? Eh, 65%
5. How many of your classmates have joined you at a nude resort? At a resort, only 2. How many have joined you being nude at your home? About 10
6. What is your experience with nude resort open houses and special events? Special events are all summer long. Basically any reason to party and play volleyball :) Do you stay away from them or attend them? Depends on the event. I like the ones that are volleyball centric.

The MeToo movement hasn't really affected anything. Contrarily, it seems that once you separate nudity from sex as one of the major instigators of sex, abuse seems to drop off as a percentage of behavior.

My question is about doing activities like volleyball or running. I need compression underwear so keep my junk contained when I’m running or playing basketball and I would imagine girls with big boobs would need a sports bra? How is that not an issue when trying to do active things naked?

Right, because your penis is huge

Girls with big boobs generally can still do things like play volleyball etc but some elect to wear a sports bra when doing so or running especially. However, bras have been proven to weaken the muscles that keep them perky and also contribute to breast cancer so there's that.

As far as guys with big penises, I've seen my share and from what I know it varies from guy to guy. My brother is really big and it bothers him to run nude so he doesn't but will play volleyball. Other bigger guys don't mind running. Also, when you are doing strenuous activity like playing a sport your penis tends to shrink anyway because all of the blood in your body is redirected to your muscles and your mind.

I totally agree with NudistFun. I have been to two 5k fun runs at a nudist resort (plus have run nude with my high school temmates) and only a few girls chose to wear bras. Some weren't even the biggest. And no guys needed to wear anything for support. I am 7-7.5 and was perfectly fine. Keep in mind this is rare and only 5k. If I was running 10 miles or more and doing it daily I may not want to run naked and girls may not either. But of 5k (just over 3 miles) i bit of bouncing/slapping is no biggie.

NudistFun my question is this, it is ever ok to compliment a nude person on their nude appearance? It probably depends on how well you know them and whether you look like a creepy perv or not but answer the best you can. Could a stranger comment on your boobs or any part of your body? How about an acquaintance? A family friend? A fellow teen friend? A family member like dad, brother, uncle?

It's all about context and how well I know them. The family is okay, close friends as well.. it would be a bit odd for someone I just met to compliment my body but that also depends on the part of the body they compliment.

Just checking in as another lifelong naturist/nudist girl. I just turned 15 and members of my family almost never wear clothes in the house unless it's too chilly in the winter months. Mom grew up in the same lifestyle and so did my grandma.

In warm weather, we have fun in our backyard which has tall bushes and a privacy fence that the neighbors can't see through, although at least one house has a partial view of our yard from their upstairs windows. We also attend nudist/naturist resorts as a family and go to nude beaches.

I love it, and wouldn't have it any other way. We warn new friends that are coming to our house that they are likely to see at least one naked person, usually more. My friends have been totally cool about it, some of them will get undressed when they visit and I have had several naked sleepovers with my girl friends over the years. I think the very first time my boyfriend came over he was a little surprised when mom answered the door naked, even though he already knew my family were naturists the reality of it may not have sunk in until he was standing at the door and she was naked. He didn't get undressed that first time as I was already dressed and waiting to go on our date. But since then, he usually gets out of his clothes at the front door.

Get your family to visit Canada, there are nudist resorts near Hamilton, and an awesome nude beach in downtown Toronto. If you look up AANR, you will find resorts in many midwestern states. I know we have been to some in Michigan and in Ohio over the years.

How can I practice nudism if my parents won't let me and I get board in my room?

Katie2003
May 24th, 2018, 02:07 PM
Are you able to lock the door to your room and just stay naked while you are alone? That might be better than nothing. Or do you have a friend or two that are also interested in exploring nudism, and you could do that at their house rather than yours, if their parents didn't have any problems with it?

I know in Florida there are a bunch of official naturist/nudist resorts, and some nude beaches as well, so if you are able to travel you could probably go to one over the summer. You might not be allowed to attend the resorts without being over 18 unless an adult was with you like a parent though. But the beaches are always wide open and anyone can participate in nudism there. Look at AANR and see if they have a list of such locations in your state.

This is the single most asked question about nudism.

It sounds impossible, but it's true. And if you get one, you wrap with a towel, roll over, or swim. It's easy :)

My parents are allowing my brother and I to swim nude in our pool, we also hang out in our room nude at night before bed which we've been doing for a couple of years. Neither of us has gotten an erection outside but we, well me mostly, get them in our room just watching TV. Not really sure why but guess it makes sense they don't occur often at resorts

So I guess I am different than everyone else. My fear is I would see people so unattractive that it would scar me for life. You can't really UNSEE something. Your eyes literally records everything you ever see in your entire life. You can't recall it all but generally most of us don't get to choose what we can and can't recall either. We know porn is a factor in male impotence. Meaning those who watch more porn tend to have more trouble with impotence later on in life. I suspect it would be the same for those who frequent nudist beaches. Because I think they may see things that either turn them off when actually having sex....or they see people on the beach that their Significant other will never hold a candle to physically speaking so they can't get it up for their significant others.

But anyway my question is have you ever seen some really unattractive people at nude beaches and didn't it bother you at all? Was there anyone you wish you hadn't seen?

The reality is that people come in every possible size, shape, age, and appearance. If you attend naturist resorts or nude beaches you will eventually see a very wide range of naked bodies. Mom always taught us that we are all beautiful, in our own way and for that reason I have never been offended by what I saw. I can't imagine that simply seeing other people who looked different from me naked would affect me or my sexuality in any way, since the lifestyle of being naturist/nudists isn't ever sexually oriented.

Certainly all people have their own opinions and thoughts about what they personally see as attractive or unattractive. But for me at least, and my friends and family who are also naturist/nudists, seeing someone with their clothes off doesn't affect us any more than seeing that person with clothes on. I have seen at least 10,000 different people naked since I was a little girl, probably way more than that number. I don't recall ever thinking that someone was totally unattractive, or being affected in any way by having seen anyone naked. Even being a bigger girl myself, and one who totally hates "ratings" I would consider myself to be only a 3 or 4 on a scale of 10. But it doesn't bother me at all to be naked in a group of other naked people because of the diversity that is always evident at naturist resorts and nude beaches. You will see everything from babies a few weeks old, to great grandparents who are in their 80's, and all of them are naturally beautiful in their own way.

Aww, thanks Emily. Mom says we are all our own worst enemies and fail to see things about ourselves that others pick up on including how we look and what kind of person we are. She's got her PhD in behavioral psychology so she must know what she's talking about. I've always thought that I'm nothing special to look at, but she's taught us to look for the beauty in everyone. Apparently others can see things about me that I fail to see. I think I look kinda dorky and average at best. I know I'm unique.

There's no doubt in my mind that being a naturist/nudist and having the experience of being seen naked and seeing other people naked has been a wonderful boost to my self esteem. But it's always been all over the place. Sometimes I feel good about myself and how I look, other days not so much.

Right now I'm at an all time high! For the past few weeks I've been getting all sorts of random compliments from people, and I noticed guys turning their heads to look. This has happened both at the naturist resort we attended a couple weeks back, and at other places like church and at places I went with friends. Part of it may be due to the way I'm dressing now that the weather is getting a bit warmer. We are supposed to be attending another naturist resort next weekend if everything works out in the meantime.

Not sure who your post was directed at, and I assume you mean "kick OUT" not "kick" ... But as sombody who has been to nudist resorts a couple times and has read the rules for many resorts I can say that nudist resorts ask males who get erections to either cover up or diescreeetly remove themselves from view (can be go to a bathroom or residence or lake or pool ... just don't hang out with people unless it's maybe just his family and they don't care). Resorts will only kick out people who are openly breaking rules. So if a person is hitting on people or taking pics without their approval or walking around with a hard on and not hiding it or going away (basic d-bag acting). There is a tiny minority of nude resorts who allow boners. They feel that hardons are natural and shouldn't be frowned upon. I have never been to one or even know where one is around here. Idk if I would go or not. I suppose there is no reason why i wouldn't go to one, as long as no male was hitting on my I would feel comfortable there I suppose, maybe even more relaxed in case i ever got a boner which i haven't (well I have started to get one then i got in the pool).

There are people of ALL ages. From a few weeks old to great-grandparents ages.

The ones I have been to are isolated. Even the one in Seattle. So you would have to drive or walk in and you would be noticed and security (or a member) would ask you to leave. There is no way a person could just walk up and look into them. It's not like a McDonalds downtown lol. I bet even ones in towns bigger than Seattle (and Seattle is a big city) are isolated (and if not then ya they would have fences).

Beaches are different. i have heard that some major beaches in the world just put up one sign that seperates the clothed portion and the unclothed section lol. So in otherwords people have been walking on the beach and looking down or looking at the water or looking at their phone, and when they look up they see a bunch of naked people hahaha. The naked beaches i have been to are all isolated but no warning signs, so IF you stumbled upon them you would be surprised af lol

Ya it will be weird at first. Driving into a nudist resort my first time was like an out of body experience. Then i couldn't believe it when I was joining them. Skinnydipping (which sounds basically what you will be doing) was a little different. My first few times I was with older kids and simply copied them. And when I first did it with kids my age I was kinda the leader. The first to get naked and stuff.

But like I said it will be weird but you will love it. So is it just your friends who are your age doing this? Or is this a family vacation or a camp thing or what?

Do you enjoy getting tan or avoid to get too much burn?

I have hat glases and necklace, but mostly not if I go skinny dip. I actually don't like getting tanned because if the weather is hot itshurt

Nobody cares if you wear jewelry. Nudism/naturism is textile free not jewelry free. And occasionally you'll even see women in shorts (especially if they're on their period).

Everybody should take precautions and not get too much sun without sunscreen with proper SPF. Skin cancer is real lol

Yes, at the naturist resorts my family attends every summer there are no photos allowed except of your own family members. In order to take a photo of anyone else you have to ask permission. People will and do get escorted off the property and told never to return for inappropriate behavior.

On a public nude beach there often isn't anyone there with authority. But if it is noticed by enough of the other people attending they pretty much have to call out any inappropriate behavior and hope that enough people join in telling the person to stop or to leave.

xSashax is right...we had been to naturist camp .I know in the camp they conduct sports, contest even pageants for women and girls separately..even their own video and photo troops are allowed to take casual pictures of nude girls and women and not any close-up shots.

I've been getting a lot of questions about the lifestyle. Feel free to ask your questions here and myself and others will do our best to answer =)

Great thread...this would have been awesome to have back when I first was researching the lifestyle. You are a great ambassador to the nudist/naturist life.

I’ve been getting into this.
Last night I slept nude and I was nudevall day until three in the afternoon when we went out to get a late lunch.
I had to get dressed to go out but it was fun to be nude most of the day. It felt great.

yeah..some women or girls may ridicule outwardly, but truly speaking every girl likes that naturist's life style ..perhaps they might have missed the chance..or awaiting for it..it is curious and funny

We’re having our basement renovated and made into s new bedroom for me.
My new room will be twice as big as my old room . I’ll make it a clothing prohibited area, the only time you’re allowed to be dressed in my room is if you are in the process of entering or exiting my room.
