I was dumped by her about a week ago. We were together for 6 months almost. There really was no explanation, she just stopped answering my texts and when I went to confront her she just shrugged off her behaviour as normal. She said we have no future together, that she will think about maintaining contact with me etc. I just told her 'okay, no worries, bye'. I managed to keep myself collected during the confrontation, but now I am kinda suffering down moments.
I know I have to move on and I am striving to do that, but do you guys have any advice how to kinda ease the pain? Not the pain of a certain person leaving me, but the pain of being lonely?

Well sounds like she’s not really mature enough to have a relationship like the one you wana anyways. You don’t just end something like that the way she did
Anyways just surround yourself with friends and keep busy. They’ll know what happened and will be wanting to spend time with you I’m sure. And doing stuff will keep your mind off of it
Sorry that happened to you
Good luck

I was dumped by my ex over text the day I went on vacation. Fucking sucked and he did the same thing your ex did, so I know how you feel. I was lucky enough to be with my grandparents at the time who are some of the most loving, supportive people in the world, even if they didn’t know what I was going through. So like JT said, surround yourself in good vibes with friends and family, and get your mind off of it. It heals over time.

Thanks, will do. Plan on going shooting again after New Year. It really relaxes me.
Also thought I should find a new girlfriend to fill the gap, but I did that once and it ended badly both for the girl I was after the breakup and it was bad for me.

Update: I kinda identified the problems and I am slowly fixing them. Also my friends helped a lot.
I am going to be single for a while until I find my inner peace and recollect myself.

I am sorry for the pain. The fact is that most people have a few relationships before they find that right soulmate. So try to just move on and find an other girl. You will be just fine.

If she tries to contact you, as much as you will want to, DO NOT respond. You have to come to an understanding with yourself that you and her are done. If you honestly think otherwise, it will take much longer to get over her.
Here is what you should do to ease the pain in the meantime. Do not let yourself mop around the house in pain. Spend the time that you would have spent with her on something that betters yourself. Join a club, workout, read a book. When the next girl comes along it will make you a more interesting person. And when you have those moments thinking about her when you're really in pain, do something to distract yourself.
And after a certain amount of time goes by, ask a girl out or at least for their number. Even if you never call them it reminds you of how many fish there are in the sea.

Very true Jamie....sometimes we have to have hurt to really know when we have the real thing....and to the OP I think that it is a good idea to just date around to see what or who might be right for you
