I am fed up with my body hair. I have chest hair, back hair, arm, leg, stomach, shoulder, leg and hair on my butt. I don't have pit hair due to a 2nd degree chemical burns I got back in August. It is hot, sticky, itchy and has gotten caught up in clothing. I am physically fit and the hair really fucks up the definition and hides a lot of the muscle tone. It also makes getting a tan virtually impossible.

I have tried shaving as much as I can, but it is a very long process (3 solid hours). I have been looking into waxing, sugaring, Laser and electrolysis. Being Laser and electrolysis is expensive I am looking at waxing and sugaring.

Has anyone had any experience with either waxing and or sugaring. And if you have, what is it like and how long does it last?

what good is waxing gonna do? it'll just grow back. and i doubt waxing that much of your body is going to be any quicker than just shaving it...

From the reading I have done, when you wax it rips the whole hair, hair root, hair bulb. It will take 3 to 6 weeks to grow back, and over time the hair would become finer and finer. And if done long enough it will stop. With shaving, you risk cutting yourself even if you are super careful. I would rather get waxed and not have to shave for upto a month and a half then have to shave every other day while dealing with ingrown hairs, which is painful.

I just want to know if anyone else has experienced it and what their thoughts are.

Sounds like you will wanna do laser hair removal someday. In the meantime you can shave if you really wanna. Make sure you are doing it for you and not societal norm or popularity. Its a lot of time and money wasted just to "fit in". Why are you so dark and hairy? Are you Greek or Turkish or something?

If you knew me you would know I hate following societal norms when it comes to image. I enjoy working out and I am tired of seeing a dark brown rug covering my muscles, making everyday a sweaty stinking sticky mess.

As for my genetic background, I am Irish, Italian, Scottish and German.

I think waxing is the most stupid and painful way to remove hair. My question is why are so many teens so damn worried about shaving body and pubic hair now days? I can see both guys and girls shaving a bikini line being swimmers but other than that why worry so much about body hair?

I can't speak for anyone else. But my reasons are simple enough for me. My I hate being covered in hair, it holds onto the body odor, it is annoyingly hot in the summer and in the summer I get infected hair follicles, and that hurts like hell. And I have had it caught up in clothing before and that hurts. I keep my pubes, I just trim them down a bit. I enjoy not having hair.

As for other people it is personal choice, just coloring your hair, growing a beard, getting a tattoo or a piercing.

Waxing could work. It’ll probably be a longer time between waxing than between shaving. I’d be careful with applying wax to any areas close to the burns you mentioned as you skin is likely to be damaged by it especially as your burns are only a few months old.

I do agree with blackparadisepixie though it’ll probably still take ages. I bet it’ll also hurt like heel in certain areas.

What is waxing gonna do? Wouldn't it just hurt more?

^^^ This. And at some point you gotta ask if it's really worth all the discomfort and trouble.

Pubic Hair is natural. You think it's too long? Then, trim it, problem solved.

I know people that have had laser sessions paid for ($2000) by their parents, they now dint have any pubes or pits and stuff. PERSONALLY i dont like pubes or pit hair or what ever so it would be totallyworth it for me or my partner but may not he for others.

A lot of the cost is the service and stuff, if you buy the laser machine yourself then it is much much cheaper than gettig enough sessions to be hairless. However, you lose the experience of the technician and the clean environment its done in so you would have to do a fair bit of reearch and maybe get a friend to help you.

Thats what. Would do but i am happy to take risks aslong as i understand the possible outcomes.

I spoke to my dermatologist, he said being there are no hair follicles in the burn areas, so it shouldn't be a issue. He did say that if hair follicles do start growing in the next 6 months to a year, he recommends plucking them or use sugaring being it doesn't stick to the skin. In fact he suggesting sugaring for the whole wax being it is applied Luke warm to cold.

That's why I plan on sugaring. With wax/sugaring all you need to do is make sure the skin is clean and dry. I will know in the next few hours after I try it.

I use sugaring on my bum, taint, and balls to remove the hair... I'm too afraid to stick my razor there. It works well. Because it's a soluble solution, if I apply the sugar wrongly, I can just wash it off. Hope it goes well for you.
