Ok so I love winter and I love the snow. And I been taking drivers ed the last couple months. Should finish up next month.
Any ways I need to log like 40 hours of driving time outside of drivers ed. So this morning my dad takes me out in his 4x4 truck to drive in the snow and ice. First in 2 wheel drive, learned how you fishtale and recover when the ass end is sliding all over the place. Then we did it in 4 wheel drive. Then he took me out in my moms Subaru which is a stick shift so I can know how a stick works in the snow and ice

All I can say is it was freakin awesome!!! It’s like sliding all over the place in slomo instead of really fast around a dry paved street corner. Well we were in an empty parking lot actually. But still, that was so cool!!!

Sounds really awesome. Well, believe it or not but I got to drive in snow...or at least what we call snow... this year, too. Basically it was just sleet but that's the closest thing we get now and then and nobody is able to drive anymore when this happens. Everyone is just sliding around. Guess you would have a good laugh about how much wintery weather freaks people out here.

It was a lot of ice this morning with snow. Really thick ice on the cars.
My dad said you can always tell someone who’s not from New England when there driving in the snow and shit. It’s fun, but it’s also hard to stay in control so you don’t slide everywhere. You do stuff differently when driving in the snow, and the ice

Like in a stick shift, I learned if you start to slide, don’t break, you actually upshift and give a little gas. Weird huh?

But yeah I’m sure it’s really strange for you cause you guy said don’t have heavy equipment to plow sand and salt the roads like we have here do you?

We aren't really equipped for winter weather but it can all be improvised if needed.
And yeah, the don't break sounds logical...I learned the same when there's real heavy rain...if you start to slide due to too much water on the street, don't break or you make it worse...

It’s actually a blast. Your just sliding around. Nothing to hit by accident. And the sensation of the smooth sliding in like slow motion is so awesome

Heh, we got caught out by an instant blizzard tonight. I am verry glad I wasn't driving because the roads are on the sides of mountains here, and the drop-offs are over 1,000 ft. But tomorrow morning, I'll be out plowing snow with the little Kubota 4x4 tractor.

Better safe than sorry. Nobody wants a car accident on Christmas
