(This one's kinda old, from 4/28/17, but think of me posting it here as a bit of an online backup.) This thing is so edgy it can cut you just by reading it, but here goes!
We used to be friends,
but I sought to change that
as two seasons came and went
progress halted by personality
Yet, further surprised as I was
I could not keep up with the pace.
We used to date
and now I feel nothing
except loss and regret
as if I were at fault
though my blatant failures
lie not in the actions
but lack thereof.
We were to be friends
yet pushed away as I was
there was no longer a chance
as one fails another
brought down by assumption
rather than fact.
