so this girl that ive had a huge crush on for over a year now just broke up with her boyfriend last friday and now we are like really close and we talk all the time
I would like to try to get her to go out with me but im not sure if i should risk our friendship. Ik i would have to wait a while before asking her out or anything.
does anyone have any advice on what i should do or how long to wait?

Have heard is not a good idea to date someone right after a break up.
Take it slowly I guess. Don't have to jump from being pals to some giant
romantic date with candles and violins. Just see a movie together or whatever.
Be patient - give it time.

Yeah certainly give her time after this break-up. Especially if she was with her ex-boyfriend for a long time then she will need at least 6 weeks or so on her own to get over her old relationship. Trust me when I say that if you date her right after the relationship you will be seen as a rebound and nobody wants to be a rebound. Be there for her and give her the odd compliment to make her feel better about herself. She will like you for that. Once she is ready to start dating again perhaps she will be willing to look at you in that way.
