First of all, I really really don't want to start anything. This isn't me trying to, you know... state my opinion and be aggressive, this is an actual honest question. I don't really have an opinion on this, because I feel I know so little that I really can't have an opinion, at this stage. I'd just like to hear from both sides and see what sounds rights to me then.

So... do asexual people belong in the LGBT community? From what I've gathered there are two main schools of thought, that are opposing.

The first is that asexual people do belong in the LGBT community because the LGBT community should be all about inclusiveness and acceptance and tolerance.

The second is that if someone is asexual, but otherwise straight (eg. a man who loves women only but doesn't want sex with them) and cisgender, then they shouldn't belong in the LGBT community because, well, a cisgender man who loves women and has no interest in men .... just sorta... is definitionally not LGBT I guess?

Like I said, I'm not sure how I feel about this yet, and don't want to hurt anyone's feeling or make them feel like they're not valid, I'm just interested to hear what other people think.

Vote in the poll, and/or comment if you have more to say,I'd love to hear from you!

I still asexual even a sexuality?
My understanding is they are not attracted to sex at all. Man or woman
I would classify asexual people under the LGBT community cause it’s an alternative to traditional “straight” people. And should be all inclusive

Everyone belongs to the group that is called Human.
I don't like putting labels on people. If people want to put themselves into a certain group, that's fine, but it's not for me to decide to which group a certain person belongs.

That is interesting... I guess a thought I had was that the LGBT community isn't actually you know for all 'alternative' sexualities... it's for LGBT people, you know? like... a dude with five wives would deviate from you know I guess the norm in society, but... that doesn't make him LGBT I guess? If that makes sense?

I dont think they want to be part of the community
cause they r not interested in sexual activities. I'm not
sure tho cause I dont know anyone who Is asexual.

I think it might be a little bit problematic to equate the LGBT community to sexual activities. There are people in the community who don't have sex, and it doesn't only have to do with your sexual preference eg. trans people are LGBT and it doesn't have to do with their orientation.

I also think you know, like, obviously if a man has romantic feelings for other men but not sexual then yeah he's LGBT. Same if a woman loves women but just doesn't like sex, and also if someone is ace and also trans then they absolutely belong. But if someone is straight and cis then I guess I have this block in my head that's like... I just don't know how I could see them as LGBT.

I do not reallyyy care whether a person is LGBT as long as they are a good person.
