I am having difficulty defining the two. I know they are different but I can't figure out where I fit in exactly. I know that transgender is feeling like you were born the wrong sex, correct? And tomboy is a girl who dresses and acts like a boy but identifies as a girl, right? I am a tomboy. I also feel like I should have been born a boy. It just feels right for me because of how much of a tomboy I am. Does that make me transgender or no? Please help me.

Transgender/transsexual is when you identify as the opposite gender to which you were assigned to at birth. People decide to take hormones and top/bottom surgery to feel more comfortable in their own skin; more often than not they may endure psychological damage before they decide to do this due to the fact that they feel like they are in the wrong body (body dysmorphia).
Being a tomboy is different. A tomboy is when a female does not fit into the societal norm of what is expected by her gender. For example she may not like dolls or girly things and would prefer sports, “boyish” activities and less girly attire i.e. trousers instead of dresses. Tomboys do not suffer from body dysmorphia and do not want to actively change their sex and gender - they just feel more comfortable skipping the dresses and tea parties.

I'd just like to add that a lot of people don't undergo any physical/medical changes (hormones and/or surgery). This might be due to lack of resources or lack of desire. Your body does not make you any less of a boy or girl or anything or anyone else you might be. Choosing not to have hormone therapy and/or surgery does not mean that someone isn't transgender or isn't whatever their identity might be.

I think your definitions are basically correct. You just have to figure out how you feel. I guess you already do. You feel like you should be a boy. So you now need to be sure and possibly decide if you want to live as a boy (like change your name, identity, possible sex surgery).

I agree that you know who you are and that is what is important in life....medical procedures are becoming more common I guess, but not necessary to determine who you feel you are...

Trans man here, just piping though most people have been pretty accurate.
Tom boys are girls. Trans boys are boys. That's the main difference.
Tom boys, definitionally, have masculine interests. Trans boys don't have to.
Tom boys identify as (feel like they are) girls. Trans boy identify as boys.
Not all trans boys transition, and that's fine. Not all trans boys present masculinely at all, some like make up and dresses just the way some cisgender boys like make up and dresses.
It sounds like you're having some issues around your gender so I just wanted to say as someone who's been there that I'd be really happy to help if I can.

Tom boys and trans boys are both AFAB (assigned female at birth), so were both born wth vaginas. However, it’s harmful to trans boys to describe what they have as ‘female body parts’: they’re not female, so no part of their body is actually female, and you would probably hurt or upset a trans boy if you referred to any part of his body as a girls part.

You’re fine! You mean the Adam’s apple? That actually isn’t something that you’re born with one way or the other, the only different between if you have a deeper voice or a lighter voice is how thick your vocal cords are. If trans boys take hormones (testosterone) then it makes their vocal cords thicker, So makes their voices deeper.

Just wondering, what is a girl who has boy sexual parts but has girl voice called?

I think you would be talking about a trans girl?
Trans girls are girls who were designated male at birth (the doctor would've said 'it's a boy' when they were born.)
Trans boys are boys who were designated female at birth (the doctor would've said 'it's a girl'.)
Not all trans girls have high voices, some do, but if they identify as girls but were assigned male at birth because of what parts they have, then they are trans girls, or trans women, if they are older.

Just think of the word “trans” as “transitional” (basically what we’re saying) and the gender after that is the gender they are transitioning to
