What does your doctor do differently during the GENITAL check now that you are in puberty vs before you were in puberty?

Nothing changed for me, since I remember, I had my first exams since 11, and it was always the same. Coughing while being touched between the legs and checked the heart rate and blood pressure. So I can't really help you answer this question.

Nothing. My doctor just looks at my privates and butt hole, just to see if there are infections or anything.

In the UK I don't think we get physical exams like in America. We go to doctors if we have a problem and they look at the area of the problem or just talk about it. Like British doctors don't ask you to take your underwear off when you have an ear infection either before puberty or after it.

Why would a doctor look at anyone's butt hole? I've never heard of that. Anyway, mine checks out my balls to make sure there are no lumps or anything.

It's always been the same for me, foreskin rolled back, coughing with the testicles, all that stuff. Hasn't changed, and no big deal looking back on it.

Weirdly enough i’ve never had the doctor look down there when i’ve gotten physicals in the past. Maybe they’ll want to in my next one since i’m older now

This is true but my parents asked if I would go private to make sure all is ok, there was no pressure and was up to me, I thought about and agreed. Wow was that a comprehensive exam!!

I honestly don't know if I got physicals before puberty? I mostly get physicals for school sports which started in 7th grade so I was already several years into puberty. My doctor spends very little time on my physical as it is especially the genitals part. But ya if I had them at all I bet they just checked my heart and lungs and that was it.

What kind of questions does he ask?

The only differences I can think of are:
1. On one occasion, well into puberty, she asked for a semen sample. To use sperm count as a baseline measure, in case of sports injury.
2. She run her fingertips through my pubic hair a tiny bit (before I shaved it) to check for skin irritation or parasites.

I think the main difference from when I was a little kid and when I entered puberty was the hernia exam...Nothing else really changed....my older brother told me about the "prostate" exam the last time he went to the doctor (he's 24) but that hasn't happened yet to me....

I only get regular physicals now. Before I was in puberty When I got physicals the doc checked my penis and balls and I had to cough for a hernia check. He also retracted my foreskin to see how much it retracted. I don't get that kind of physical anymore.

When I was younger he would always look down there and feel my balls quickly.

When I got closer to puberty age ( 11 or 12, I don't remember which one) he checks down there more thoroughly. The doctor always does the hernia check (where you cough), he checks each of my balls for lumps, feels the area where my pubes are, and he feels my penis and looks at the pee hole now. Been the same thing for a few years now.

My doctor hasn't given me genital exams during the physical. I'm not sure if it's obvious if I started puberty, but I did and she hasn't done any new things.

There hasnt been much of a change in how my doc examines my genitals between the time I was a kid and now.

I think mine spends a bit of more time. When I was a kid she used to just pull my undies' waistband and peek. Last time she actually took my undies down to mid-thigh level and examined my testicles too. She also got me to roll over and checked for hair in my butt. She said I'm a late developer but not to worry.

Not much had changed. When I was a kid, she would take off my underwear and pull back my foreskin. She would clean it if it needed it. She would feel my testicles individually. She would look at my butthole adnd feel around it. Now she does very similar. She take off my underwear. She pulls my foreskin back. She’ll clean it if need be. She’ll feel my testicles individually. But since I’ve hit puberty, I’ll have an erection. She wants me to get one so she can measure it. It’s part of the exam. I’ll often have precum which is embarrassing. She will have me lie on my stomach and check my butthole. Last time she needed a urine sample and semen sample, as I turned 13. I did both right there so the doctor could make sure it was fresh

I think there's just more reason to stop and look now (age wise - it's nothing special yet lol).

She checks around the penis a bit, head/foreskin area, feels each testicle for anything abnormal, that's mainly it. Just looks a bit closer I guess.

Here in the US, it really depends on the doctor. Granted I don't have to go to the doctor very often, but I've never had a doctor have me get completely naked or naked below the waist if it wasn't necessary. The last time that I can remember having to pull my pants and underwear down was for shots in my butt check back when I was a kid. This last year was the first time since I was a kid that my doc had me take of any clothes besides my shirt. I was in for a Boy Scout physical and he needed to do the hernia check so I just had to pull my shorts and briefs down just enough for him to check my balls.

Back in middle school they flick the penis head, check the shaft, urethra. They also cup the balls and seem to check “the bounce or the drop”. Then you have to spread your buttocks. In high school for some reason its mostly just checking the shaft and the ball drop.
