I’m sorry if this question is hopelessly immature, but I’m genuinely curious. I’m a guy, and I have not yet had a serious girlfriend. I have no familiarity with this. Can you girls describe it a bit?

The short story: periods suck big time. For me it goes for about 5 days. It starts on day 1 with cramps and pain in my abdomen area and pelvis. And then of course the bleeding starts which is annoying. Not that it means anything to me yet, but I guess when your period starts you know there's no unwanted pregnancy. Because my period is a painful experience, I really enjoy the release once it's over... until the next one comes along.

l could give an expansive description but saying they suck sums it up pretty well.

Yeah they suck and I've only had 3 of them so far. I get a tummy ache before it starts and get sort of stressed by knowing it's coming except obviously the first time I didn't know exactly what to expect. And I need to eat more when I'm having it but don't really want too. And after the first day the tummy ache gets better. But the best bit is definitely the end :)

It's annoying indeed. It hurts.
Maybe I can compare it to boys getting their testicles squeezed medium to extra hard constantly for a few days each month.

They suck so bad expecially the first day the cramps are the worst also you crave chocolate and it sucks because if you eat too much you get acne.

They are terrible, trust me. I don't usually get very painful periods but today is one of those days sadly - One of worst pain in my entire almost 15 years!

Ummm.... hate to be "that guy," but I rather doubt that. I say this not to question to suckiness of periods- I have no doubt that they're absolutely horrible, and I'm eternally grateful that I don't have to deal with them- but just to question your analogy. If that were the case, you physically wouldn't be able to walk during a period; even a moderate blow to the testicles causes debilitating pain that essentially incapacitates you until it fades.

A girl told me its like having a bunch of rocks thrown up your vagina. I don’t know if that is correct so don’t quote me on it.

More like getting a knife into your gut and twisting it around for a bit, then letting the blood drip onto your favourite underwear, pants, and bed sheets. Then of course having to pay for a shit ton of stuff like pads or tampons, or if you’re really stacked, those fancy underwear. Oh and don’t forget the nausea and cravings, and ignorant assholes always saying shit like “oh are you on your period or something?” Thats always fun.

Yeah, it's not easy to always stay in a good mood. I wish boys could all experience the feeling of a period just one time, and then they will understand and won't say something like that again.

Imagine freaking out about potentially failing the hardest test you've ever taken in school... while being kicked in the guts by bullys for a week straight.... while bleeding from your anus (the closest thing you could experience)... and trying to look and feel normal so a ton of people don't talk about you and embarass you and make fun of you. I hate it. I truly hate it. I have a lot of health problems relted to my abuse, and having my period just makes everything so much worse.
