Hi,
I’m going on a residential with school soon and I’m in Year 11 so with 15/16 year olds. Basically, at home I either sleep completely naked and enjoy the glory or I’m covered up with my boxers but I’m going on a 5 day residential with my school. What do you sleep in on residentials or what would you sleep in? Last time I went on a residential I was in year 9.

Any advice appreciated.

I also sleep naked at home and I also really like it.
When friends are over or I'm on a trip, I usually sleep in my boxers.
But in your case it depends, either your underwear or actual pajamas would do the trick!

well, i normally would sleep in my boxers on an occasion like this unless the people sleeping in my dorm are close friends who i have seen naked. so if i were you, i would wear underwear or completely cover up with pyjamas. enjoy the trip :)

I would wait to see what the other guys are going to do when you get there. A lot of them will probably sleep in just their underwear and that is not a bad way to go (if someone has a problem with you being in your underwear, they need to get over themselves). really if you want to sleep naked it shouldn't be a big deal either, but I wouldn't make it a habit of just walking around naked. no it shouldn't be a big deal esp if you have all showered together and what not, but I just wouldn't do it.

I always sleep in my undies. I would suggest that you sleep in your underwear too and see if any other guys sleep nude and then do what ever you want to. Have fun and good luck.

If you don't think that you can handle not sleeping naked for a 5 day trip, you can always talk to your roommates either before going on the trip or the night you get there. Just say something like, "hey guys, are you all comfortable with me sleeping naked? It's how I get the best sleep at home, but if not, I can always sleep in some boxers". Give them the option and see how they take it. Don't say it sounding uncomfortable or making it awkward as they will then feel awkward. Say it with confidence. It also depends on the situation. If you have to share a bed with another person, then sleeping naked will probably not be an option. You could always be discreet about it as well. Take your boxers off under the blanket and keep them under your pillow and then put them on before you get up. Hope this helps.

I slept naked on my residential, I was with a few friends and we all went naked so it wasn't an issue

Most guys sleep naked, so whatever you do on trips doesn't really matter, a lot of the guys in my grade sleep naked even on residentials. To me it really depends how close you are to your roommates; I know the guys well, so I sleep and walk around the room naked, but if I didn't know them, I would probably wear boxer briefs and maybe a shirt.

So I sleep naked at home. I have done it so long that when I try to sleep wearing anything (even just underwear) I often get insomnia and won't fall asleep. On sleepovers I usually wear underwear into bed/sleeping bag and lie there a few minutes. I can usually tell soon whether I am relaxed and tired enough to fall asleep or I will just lie there with a bout of insomnia. If I have to I slip my underwear off under the covers. And hope nobody pranks me while sleeping which has happened.

Whenever I share a room with someone else, regardless of gender, I initially wear a t-shirt and basketball shorts. And then once I'm under the covers I take always take off the shirt and set it somewhere within reach for the morning. And sometimes I take off my shorts (leave my boxers on) if I'm not sharing a bed with someone. I set my shorts with my shirt.

I agree with the others, out of courtesy for other people, go with some loose boxers or pajamas.

Really? You think most guys sleep naked? Imo it's rare. There is no right or wrong way tho. But even my friends who walk around naked in locker rooms and around hotel rooms for tournaments usually wunderwear for sleep

Go with the flow....If the others sleep in underwear, and I think that will be the case, then do that....if the topic about being naked for bed comes up give your opinion and do what Jordanchill said if you think that is the right thing to say....
