Silver Nitrate Stains (my fingertips are black..)

So I was developing some film on Monday, and when I was in the darkroom I accidentally stuck my hand in the developer which has the nasty chemical Silver Nitrate in it. As a result (as weird as it sounds), it made my fingertips light sensitive so when I left the darkroom it turned my fingertips black.I know it permeates your skin and you can't wash silver nitrate out, but how long does it last before it fades away? Will my fingertips be charcoal black forever? D:
