For the past few weeks I have been working out regularly for baseball season. The try-outs for varsity start this coming Monday but since I am already on the team and am recovering from a partially torn UCL (the thing people need Tommy John surgery for) that I suffered back in september, I do not plan on starting my regular baseball routine and practices for a few more weeks.

So I was wondering what I could be doing to get more fit. So far I haven't seen much change even though I have kept myself pretty strict with doing half an hour of cardio and switching off between lower body and upper body everyday for weeks now.

I am looking for any help at all so go ahead and give all the tips you could possibly have, no matter how weird (and possibly amusing) they may be.

This really depends on what your goals are. Are you going for more mass or strength? Both goals require different workouts and diets. But if you want to see results for whichever goal you aim for I would:
Drink lots of water- it helps in literally every bodily function
Eat! Even if you're trying to lose fat, in order to not lose muscle too you need to eat. And try to limit junk foods. Also eating 5-6 smaller meals a day helps metabolism and prevents muscle breakdown
You might also want to consider protein powder. It's an easy meal, and it's a must post workout if you doing any intense workouts.
Sleep 7-8 hours a night- it helps with recovery, you actually build the most muscle whille sleeping.
Workouts should be intense
take breaks. If you're sore don't work that muscle group. It'll actually hurt your progress
These are just general things to help you become a better athlete. But specific diets and workouts will fluctuate depending on your goal and genetics.
I hope this helps!

When I want to get "more fit" I focus on how far and how much I can run; training endurance.
Once you build up endurance it's easier to get fit
