Yes, it's true. Disney Channel's Andi Mack. One of the main characters came out on the season 2 opener. There were signs durring the first season. It's not like a re-do of The Fosters, I don't think the Disney Channel will not have any kissing in this one. The characters are in middle school.

I'm glad they're finally doing this. I wish there had been that kind of representation when I was young and watched Disney all the time.

Wow, that's really neat. I never really watched Disney Channel much though.

I hardly ever watch Disney Channel so I wouldn't have realised it, but I remember I read an article online somewhere about people complaining about it already.

That's pretty cool to hear, as long as they do it in the right way. Still would hope that one day people shouldn't have to come out.

Also another strange twist in the Andi Mack story. They film it in Salt Lake City, Utah with tax credit money.

CJ - Gay and Utah is sort of an oxymoron...the two are opposite of each other...

Why is this a big deal?
Because homosexuals are largely discriminated against and are a very small minority of those represented on TV. That’s why. And it’s especially a big deal because it’s on a kids channel, which is a huge arguing point that homophobic parents have against gay people.
I agree with Abhorrence tho. It’s p dope as long as they do it right

That's so cool! My little brother watches that show, I wanna know which character it is now :D
Next step, a kid with 2 moms/dads and a kid who's trans. Yay for representation!

Goodie for Disney, it's their way to get more people to watch a network that's dying in my opinion. I mean it's great though that they are more open but I hate the channel

Whys that?
Disney was losing an audience and so to expand it they added a gay character to appeal to the growing market of lgbtq children

Yeah I heard about it but I don't watch so I haven't actually seen the show. It's cool how they are incorporating all kinds of people in even if there is criticism about it
