View Full Version : Is it a Date?

So there's this girl that I've been sitting beside in my astronomy class. I asked for her number in case I ever missed a class. She didn't do well on the midterm and suggested that we study together. The next day in class I asked her if she wanted to grab dinner after. She said that she already had plans with her friends. I took it as a rejection. We didn't talk much after that, but she's usually quiet. Today I got a text from her saying that she wants to study and go out for dinner on Tuesday. I accepted. I'm not sure if this is a friends thing or a date thing. Any ideas or advice?

Just see how it goes. She may be into you or maybe just as a friend. Maybe while walk8ng take her hand. If she’s holds on, then maybe it’s a go

First, I think she probably did have plans with her friends. So, it wasn't a total rejection. And, second, she probably needs help from you especially if she isn't doing that well in your astronomy class. Third, she probably does like you since she texted you to help her and took up your offer to have dinner with her. I would say it's a friendship gesture on her part but she may be opening the door to a further relationship if things go well between you and her. The ball is in your court, Cedrick. Good luck!

I wouldn't call it anything yet other than going to dinner with a friend. It doesn't seem like you've had much interaction outside of the classroom so you need to get to know each other a little bit before either of you decide you want something more.

She probably really did have plans with her friends the first time you asked. As far as if this is a date or night, maybe see here the night goes.

Pro tip:
When you meet up, if she really took care of her looks, like fancy clothes, maybe makeup, even perfume and stuff, consider it a date. Essentially if she looks prettier than usual, it's very likely that it's a date.
It could be a friendly gesture, or an invitation on a date. Really depends, like I said, one of the ways to make a guess is how she presents herself. Best of luck to you, don't be nervous, she's a human being just like you.
