I am asking this question because of following experience

Once me (16yrs) and my younger brother went to annual medical checkup.
We to are in a same checkup room.
First my brother's tests are carried out.
After carrying same test on me doctor called me to remove my pants and sleep then he called me to erect my penis and do some checkup I don't understand what kind of checkup was that but as he is our family doctor I allow him.

The test on done only on me not on my brother.
My younger brother saw me naked for first time I felt too much weird.

problem with the foreskin or a stricture
of the opening of ur urethra. Sometimes
the doctor may check for a hernia where
he will grasp ur testicles and penis and
ask u to cough. He may check ur testicles
also for any odd lumps or swellings.

The only thing in a checkup done to my penis by the doctor is she checks my foreskin and retracts it and checks too. That is so weird that your doctor would have you get naked and sleep and then have you get erect. That just doesn't make any sense to me or seem ethical.

Mostly to check your urethral opening. The only test was the doctor looked around it. The test was only for annual checkup.

They will probably check for fungal infections and skin infections. Theyll probably just pull back your foreskin and check. No biggie

Here in the UK there are some regular checkups as babies and toddlers but then nothing until middle age. If we think something is wrong it is up to us to make an appointment to see the doctor so it is hard for me to judge what be a reasonable thing to check and what would not.

I am sure the majority of doctors are very conscientious but it doesn't hurt to question what a particular test or examination is supposed to check for and why.

The extent of my experiences as well Ska8er...and I really don't understand why you had to be erect for a typical exam....If you were maybe 40 or so and checking for something like erectile dysfunction, maybe but as a teen seems a bit weird especially with your brother in the same room.

Whenever I go to the doctor for checkup, usually my mom and my sister is in the same room, even when the doctor checks my private parts (When I am nude). But I have been nude to my family many times, and I have seen my family nude many times as well, so I really don't care.

I've never gone for a physical but that does not sound normal to me. There is nothing wrong with asking your doctor why he wanted to check you out a bit more closely than your brother. Its ur health so u can ask whatever you want.

And if your not comfortable being naked in front of your brother book separate appointments in the future.

The doctor has looked at and felt my penis (as well as my balls too) during a physical exam, but he has never asked for me to get hard. He just checked it quick and moved on.

When I went to get my physical done when I was 13 the doctor was checking my privates and I ended up getting hard. He said I was quite big for my age and thwn just continued along with checking the rest of me.

The only medical exams that were done on my penis during a physical is I have to retract my foreskin so my doctor can check under it. I have never been asked to get a boner during any medical exam. If the doctor ever asked me to do that I would consider it weird.

I've been in the swim team for about ten years and we have an annual medical checkup. Part of the checkup involves getting naked but nothing is specifically done to our penises, just a quick visual checkup (less than five minutes).

I get a physical/check-up each year. The doctor always does the hernia check (where you cough), he checks each of my balls for lumps, feels the area where my pubes are, and he feels my penis and looks at the pee hole.
He has never asked me to get a boner and I don't know why he would need to see it hard unless there was something wrong that I has asked him about.

I don't think that doctors really do much other than looking to see if there are infections or anything. If you have a foreskin, the doctor may retract it to take a look at the glans.
