How much hair down there?

I am new here and have so many questions so I hope I don't post too much.
I am 14 and went through puberty around 10. My pubic hair is very dark, very long and very curly. It even goes out onto my thighs past my unederwear and down to my anus and a little bit up toward my bellybutton. I measured my longest hairs just above my slit and they are over 2 inches long!
I have read a few things on this site and others and have seen a bit in magazines and such and it seems that most women shave theirs off and that those who let theirs grow hairy is not normal.
Even if you shave or not, how much coverage would you pubic hair have if you didn't shave it off? Does it go onto your thighs, down to your anus and up toward your bellybutton like mine does. My mom has pubic hair much like mine but hers is more. I guess as I get older I will keep getting even more hair down there.
I am just curious how much the other girls here have and how much converage they would if they didn't shave or trim.
Also, what color is your pubic hair compared to the hair on your head?

If I didn't shave, and I used to not, my hair is like yours. Very thick and long and there's a lot of it. I do shave, and many girls do, but it is normal to leave it natural or just to trim, so don't worry about that.
It's black, and my hair is dark brown.

It's normal to be quite hairy down there. lots of people are.
I shave sometimes, when I feel like it. I used to do it consistently but I've gotten lazy. :p

I have less than you but you are very normal. I also don't shave. You don't need to if you like it. The colour is brown like on my head.

I wax so it is always smooth. It seems like it could get very tthick otherwise though.

Some girls have more and others less but you have nothing to worry about. I trim mine so its not as long as yours but it probably would be if it didn't.

Everyone is hairy down there until they start shaving. but since yours is soo long use something like a beard trimmer to get lots shorter then use a razor to shave it. practice on your mound before you get down to the lips though, pretty tender there. Be VERRY careful.

Its not like you can grow a ponytail down there. Believe me it will stop growing at some point.

You only have to shave it if you want to, but it's more hygienic and it look nice imo. You can atleast give it a try.

When you do shave it, take your time and good preparation is half the battle. Firstly, take a nice hot bath or shower. Hot water makes the skin smooth and hair softer. Before you start shaving cut or trim the long hair first. Shaving itself requires a lot concentration. Use a new blade, and normal shaving cream or shaving oil.

To avoid irritation it is best to shave with the grain. The result is a little less smooth, but you do avoid irritation. Do not press too hard and pull the skin smooth whille shaving. After shaving the pubic area you should wash it with water. Do not use soap because it will dry the skin.

Be aware that when you shave it for the first time that it has a high chance to irritate. It will stop irritate/itching if you shave it reguarly, try to use baby powder to prevend the itching.

I've got a decent amount of hair. I do shave to some extent, but it'd be along my bikini line up to about level with my hips if I didn't shave. It'd also be very thick. Mine is light-medium brown, and my (natural) hair color is medium-dark blonde.

It sounds very normal to me. Shave if you want. You can also just trim it with hair clippers to shorten the length if you do not like your pubic hair to be long and you do not want to shave it.
Mine is blonde. I shave or wax it all off. I prefer the look, also, I find it to be more sensitive.

I'm a bit like you. I tend to get hair everywhere, including thighs and up to my belly button. I just shave it off, even though all the hair on my body grows back quickly. I prefer to be clean and hair-free.

My pubic hair doesn't go onto my thighs or anus or bellybutton like yours and I don't shave it. Mine is red, almost exactly the same colour as my hair on my head
