I think it is so important for girls to do this. One of my friend's mom had breast cancer. So sad :(

fyi - breast cancer is VERY VERY VERY rare for woman under 30. Vigilance is good, but 99% of anything odd you find shouldnt worry you much.

2 Has anyone shown you or told you how to examine your breasts? Yes, I just went to a new doctor for the first time and the nurse gave me a pamphlet and showed me how to do the self exams before the doctor came in and did my first one
4 Who suggested you have a breast exam, doctor, mum etc? Both my mom and the doctor, my former pediatrician told mom I was old enough and starting to have breast development that she should take me to a family doctor that treats older teens, or to a gynecologist for a complete physical exam including my breasts and genital area
5 Age you first had a breast exam? 15, last month was my first "official" breast exam by a regular family doctor, although for the past couple of years my pediatrician would examine my chest and nipples closely and feel for any lumps or whatever when I went to him for an exam even though I was flat chested until last fall
