Man 'stabbed daughter 13 times'

Ryan Hawkins was stabbed nine times, the court was told
A teenage girl has described how her father stabbed her at least 13 times before killing her four-year-old brother in a knife attack at his home.
Donna Hawkins told police her father attacked her when she went to pick up her brother Ryan from the house in Royd Street, Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire.
A video of her police interview was shown to a jury at Leeds Crown Court.
Christopher Hawkins, 47, denies murdering Ryan last September and attempting to murder Donna.
In the police interview, Donna said she went to pick up Ryan after he had spent the weekend with their father.

Mr Hawkins had separated from their mother, Valerie Gee, a few months earlier.
The teenager said as she prepared to leave she discovered her father had locked the door of the house.
She said: "He turned around and said 'I'm sorry' and he just looked proper weird, angry, and I saw the knife and then he just went for me.
"He was stabbing me and I was telling him to stop and he just did it again and again. I was on the floor."
Donna said Mr Hawkins then stopped his attack and as she was lying on the floor, he turned his attention to Ryan.
"He said 'I'm going to kill Ryan now'," she told police.
"I was like 'No, I can't watch this.' I turned away."
Multiple wounds
The jury heard that, as Mr Hawkins approached Ryan, Donna unlocked the door and escaped into the street outside, where she collapsed and received first aid from passers-by until police and paramedics arrived.
She told police: "I was shouting at them all to go and get my brother because he was going to kill my brother."
Donna suffered at least 13 stab wounds to her face, chest, abdomen, arm and thigh, the court heard.
Ryan was stabbed nine times and was killed by wounds to the chest, two of which had penetrated his heart.
Donna also told police how her mother and father used to argue before they separated, and Mr Hawkins had once thrown knives at her mother while she and her elder sister, Natalie, were in the room.
The teenager said she continued to see her father after her parents separated because she felt sorry for him.
The trial continues.
