Question for everyone

Until I joined here I never thought about penis size. My dad has been taking me swimming for a few years so I've seen boys and adults naked lots of times in the locker room and shower. It seems on here boys are concerned about their penis size, or they have to tell us they have one larger than most adults.

My question is, how did you come to think that a big penis was important? Did you see porn and think that was the size you needed to be? Or maybe an older relative or boy told you that you needed a big one or that you were really small and made fun of it?

Me and my friends never talked bout needing to have a big one so I'm wondering how others think they do or are worried about how small they may be.

I think it comes from when boys watch porn and see an 8" dick, they think that they need to be that big to satisfy their partner when in reality it doesn't matter the size, it's how you use it. Plus some may be scared that if they don't have a big enough dick, they won't be able to get a gf or bf when in reality dick size has nothing to do into getting a partner

It's not about worrying over having a big dick, it's just curiosity about your body compared others'. How normal is this, is that big enough, is it natural that way etc. To me natural doesn't mean anything but I can see why many people are concerned about that. It's just a point when you ask yourself how different am I from others?, which actually makes sense.

Isn't it about competition between males that I have the fastest, biggest, most awesome (fill in the blank) around? And being the ultimate male symbol, having the biggest dick makes you the envy of everyone. Or so guys may think. But I agree with others, dick size means nothing to me (I like boys). Personality, looks, character mean a lot more to me than size.

I'm happy with my size for my age. Guess maybe it's just being competitive when boys want to have a bigger penis than their friends but seriously, 7" or bigger on a 14 year old boy?

You're right. I don't understand why boys are so keen to compare their sizes. After all, what does it matter? We all develop at different speeds and we all end up different sizes. There's nothing we can do about it, so we should be happy with what we've got.

Comparing with a friend can be fun. But you can't lie about your size if you do it :) But you're right we should be happy

I don't really think it's important to have a big dick, I think it's important to use what you've got, and to be proud of it. I've never felt compelled to idealize the "standards" that popular opinion, frat boys bragging, and the porn industry tells us is the "perfect size".

i've seen lots of penises and tho i don't usually watch porn i've looked at it and can also say haven't seen one anywhere near porn size. largest was about 6.75", one of my friends, and most of my other friends are between 5.5" and 6".

My dad says that penis size was no such a big deal until VCR pornos became available, lol. In the early ones, John Holmes & Ron Jeremy had the big ones. Then every guy started wondering if everyone else but him had a porn penis! According to dad (He is in his late 50's, I was a surprise :~) "When I was going through puberty, the guy that got pubic hair first, followed by the guy that had the most, was the envy of the guys entering puberty. Of course, the same was true with ejaculating."

Now tht porn is everywhere & guys shave their pubes to make their penis loo bigger, I rhink the only time we see normal penises is in the school locker room.

That's honestly one of the best questions I have ever read on here and it really got me thinking. Guys are mostly just self conscious and don't want to be below or behind everyone else and fit in with society. The average is like 5.5 inches so guys don't want to be below that or smaller than their group of friends because they may think it's embarrassing. If your bigger you can please your partner better too

My dad said he thinks its cause we don't have as much male nudity as they did growing up so we see porn and think that is what a penis is suppose to be. Where if guys were raised to be ok naked around other guys we would know that most dudes are smaller than porn stars and pubes is normal. I went to an all boys school and the Y with dad but my cousins are like scared to be naked even changing and they are older than me. It is weird.

Basically this. After watching porn I never had a concrete size I wanted, just to be, "good enough." I was afraid a girl wouldn't like me for what I have, but my current partner is happy and it's taken a while, but for now so am I. Just a mix of gathering information on average size, faking confidence till I had it, and not giving a damn about what other people think.

Mainly girls in my school thinking 13 year olds should have 7 inch penis so I got really insecure but most people think girls only get insecure but by looking at these forums a lot and I mean a lot of boys are very insecure about there penis.

I think I'm pretty average but I haven't exactly measured. Definitely not big nor do I feel I need it to be. I don't really get why it's such a big deal but I do hear guys throwing insults around and such.
