View Full Version : Being checked out in locker room

Hello there.
Not sure if this is in the right category. If it should be somewhere else, please move it. So,
I recently took up swimming as an extracurricular activity. I go to an organized swimming pool and all, and I love exercising in the water so it has been really exciting for me, except for one part. The money. Lol. Ok, that's not the only issue.
Because I never had a problem with being naked, when I finish I go straight to the locker room, take off my swimsuit and take a shower. The locker rooms are divided in men's and women's. The kids are not separated.
The thing is, I've noticed many times younger kids looking at me when I shower, especially my penis. I mean they're not 10, but still, it kind of freaks me out, like, they're usually starring down there and everytime I tell them to back off they stop there but the next day it's the same all over again.
I get that they're curious about an older guy's body (I'm 17 and they're mostly 12, 13 or just older), but I really don't know how to react. Should I talk to them? I'm not the one responsible to give them this kind of talk. Or, in that case, demonstrate my body as in a sex ed class. Right?
I even considered not doing something and let them look, but wouldn't it be weird, knowing that a 14 year old is starring at your penis making comments about it and you're acting like nothing's happening? Not to mention sportaneous hardons (it happens, admit it people!) that would make this situation even more uncomfortable, at least from a third person perspective. Or some other, though rare, things that they've done and would be considered really weird.
Is it actually weird or I'm just freaking out over nothing? Should I do something? What would you do?

I definitely think that would be a very strange situation to be in and it would make me unfomfortable. I wouldn't talk to them about anything like "the talk" but I might tell them that they need to stop looking.

Ur freaking out over nothing. Continue ur same
schedule and say nothing. If its a problem- its
theirs but I would think that they r just overly
curious. R u the only one being singled out or
do they look at other older guys? If u think its
weird-its not u so don't get paranoid.

I have a very particular s̶e̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶s̶k̶i̶l̶l̶s time schedule so when I go it's mostly me and a couple of guys a bit older who don't show up very often, and then, old people. Like 30 or 40 y/o.
So yeah I am singled out and at the same time I'm kinda not. You see my point.

Guys of all ages check out guys in the locker room. The sorta unspoken rule is: look but don't touch. A guy my age once commented "man you're huge" and I replied that both my parents were tall as if he were talking about my height. Just go about your business and don't worry about the guys checking you out. You have probably done the same at some point.

I think you should ignore them. They are only curious.

We never strip naked and if you're caught checking anyone out, you're automatically branded gay. That's how judgemental my school is.

Like stated above by others, everyone is curious of what everyone's got no matter the age, just let it go and i wouldn't say anything unless they say something to you first.

It really doesn't bother me to be looked at it's happen so much to me. But if younger boys were openly making comments that might make me feel differently. I suggest you keep your routine and maybe quietly mention to the boys that making comments isn't polite or nice, nor is staring.
Orange Kenny
June 26th, 2017, 06:33 PM
I've told them to stop starring and they do at that moment. But the other day they keep doing the same. You're all maybe right and it's nothing, but it's not like I haven't tried to avoid it.
I too check on other guys' dicks to compare, but not like that. Nor do I make comments or even "worse" things. They're younger though. I don't know.

We all boys, have the same parts and it doesn't bother me if someone looks. I also like to look at other boys too but I would never say anything.

Happens to me also, I have the added bonus that i'm a ginger, my red pubs get attention, Seems to be mostly middle school age and younger.
We all did it when we were younger would look to see what the future looks like.

I'm on a swim team so I also am in the locker room at the pool frequently. Our team is all ages to there are kids and teens both older and younger than me in there. I think it is pretty normal to have a glance around and see how you compare (not gonna lie, I do it sometimes).
Usually I see the kids younger than me spend more time looking at the older guys (compared to the older guys looking around). I'm guessing they are just curious about whats going to happen in puberty, etc. But none of them I have seen are staring for a long time or saying things about other guys private parts. The fact that they look doesn't really make me uncomfortable. However, if they were really staring and talking about it, like you said the kids are, that would probably make me uncomfortable as well.
Not quite sure what to recommend, since its never happened to me. But I would probably just ignore them - maybe they are just trying to get a reaction out of you for fun. If you don't say anything or react, maybe it won't be fun for them anymore and they might stop on their own. That's probably what I would try first.

I agree w most of what people said above, they're just lil kids, they're curious, and if they're not behaving inappropriately (comments, etc) then I'd just ignore them and let them look. If the situation changes u might have to deal w it differently tho.

I think its like everyone else said. It's just a matter of younger curiousity. The fact is, they ARE curious, and as we all look, it's pretty normal. But guys our age kinda have it down to what is "acceptable" or "normal" For some of these guys, it may be the first time they've ever seen a mature dude. And if you;re good looking and in shape, it makes em even more curious. They (the younger dudes) just havent learned that looking is normal, STARING is not appropriate! Comments (after you joke around with a bud or something,) is OK. Making comments to the dude you're looking at is just not good.
I think I would just let it go. They will learn just like we did!

How nice of you, apparently my suggestion isn't a valid option and not worthy of a thank you. I was only offering a suggestion. I tried to help you, that should be good enough. Last time I offer help to anyone on this forom.....

You misunderstood my tone. I only said "thanks everyone else" so that my responding solely to you wouldn't be considered by the others as ignoring their advice.
I appreciate you taking time to offer a suggestion. Chill :)

Idk, if it were me, I'd be ok if they wanted to check me out. But if they were making inappropriate comments, I'd probably talk to a manager or somebody. I definitely would not try to handle this myself.

In my opinion you maybe right that you dont have to give them the talk but maybe you should , or you should just ask them why they stare at you and have a little talk about this so you can explain to them that you dont like this action happening next to you , either of the 2 you should really talk to them cuz they didnt do anything wrong and if u keep letting them do it or make them leave , they will keep coming back . just think that giving them a talk about it will make them better people and u will change the world somehow :D

Who showers in a bathing suit? Not me. How do I wash my whole body if part of it is covered? For me that is just not practical.

After Swim team we all start off in out suits, we take them off in the shower rinse them, then normal shower.

Has something similar happen in sixth grade. As a reward for having no demerits in the school year about 30 boys an the same number of girls grades 3-6 went to a play area which had a indoor pool. As the teachers were female, three of us sixth grade safety patrols had to watch the locker room. We were in the shower when the other kids came in. I and the other boy with pubes walked out into the locker room, while the one with out pubes stayed in the shower and put his trunks on. We heard a few kids say ours will look like that in sixth grade, and a fifth grader with a few strands of hair said at least I am not the only one with hair. A couple of the young kids got boners. They did not mean any thing looking at us.

Always a random young kid with a huge mouth who doesn't censor himself lol. And when one starts they all do aha. Usually tho since I swam a lot when younger and have always played basketball and stuff kids don't say much. That is unless there is that ONE loudmouth kid! And then they all talk.

i think it's natural for kids to be interested in someone'a body. Especially during the puberty, looking at older kids is like to learn from mentors. Don't freak out just accept it!

I think it's normal. It's happened to me. I go and take a shower or change or whatever, and people check me out. One time a little kid came up and felt the need to comment that I had a really big penis.

Neither, I guess. It's about 7'' but sometimes it shrinks from the pool water and could show like 2'' or so. I get laughters sometimes, could that be it?

I mean you can try talking to them, but it is something that happens and the reality is, there is little you can do to actually stop someone from looking and making comments. if they tried to physically touch you or something that is completely different. it is a locker room/shower. people are going to see things. yes, it is impolite to stare, but it happens. in a sense, take it as a compliment. your there to shower, get dressed, so just do it and don't let others bother you too much.

Sounds like their just curious. Just accept it, take it as a compliment if you like! We've all looked at some point so it's quite normal

July 3rd, 2017, 04:52 AM
Yeah that is really annoying! At 12,13 and 14 they're old enough to know that staring is wrong! They're not little kids anymore! I had a similar experience l, to be honest there's not much you can do it's one of those things! :/ I would kind of hide the best I could when I would catch younger boys staring and kind of face the wall when showering or changing and try to go as quick as I could! Also the more I acknowledged them and stood them to stop staring the more they would do it! So just try not to take much notice of them! The'll stop and get bored eventually!

All throughout my teenage years people have been curious about my penis as was I, whether it was big or small. Being on the larger side, I definetely get stares from younger kids and even my peers, and I just take it as a compliment usually. People are curious and its not super weird to be interested in comparing and looking, especially for young kids.

Is your gym a chain and if so, what is the chain called, because the gym that I go to, there are seperate rooms where kids go by themselves or with their parents.

I agree with others. It's probably not a big deal. I go to a gym and I never feel like anyone is checking me out in a weird or creepy or super obvious way, but guys definitely see each other and look to see how other guys are put together in a more casual way. I mean, I look just to see what other dicks and bodies and body hair is like, but I don't stop and stare and really look for a long time. I know guys do the same to me. So it happens, but not like in a weird way. I don't know if that makes sense.

I would ignore them if they are just staring. It is normal and they will grow out of that. If they are making comments that might change things. If they are rude I would call them out on it otherwise just go about your business.

Just be proud of you your body and how it looks. If someone wants to look at you nude in the locker room, if your hot, them take it as a compliment. Kids are curious, and not as ballsy like you are. So just rill with it enjoy, give them a lift show, a show of what maturity is like. And enjoy bro

Kids are naturally curious. This has also happened to me in communal showers! Just ignore them. If you try to cover your genitals, they would only get more curious! Just ignore them. After some time, their curiosity will be settled. Then, they wouldn't look.
