If you're 13 it's time to tell your mom what you want to wear ! When you are at the shop, tell her you prefer boardshorts and that you don't want speedos. You should have the right to choose. I'm not saying you have to buy everything on your own and pay yourself, you are too young. But you mom should let you choose between models and brands as long as it's a reasonable choice.

i grew up on the swim team so obviously i wore speedos/jammers. But around puberty when guys started to develop i noticed i wasnt really. After a few years a couple guys were filling adult speedos and i was still the same size. This is when i also started to notice that my really small soft size that can shrink down to about 1 inch becomes very visible because it sticks out through the front of my speedo which is made worse by my contracted sack producing a smaller bulge to hide it. I get shrinkage all the time when im simply active and when i swim i spend most of the time like that. As more and more of the other kids had gotten much bigger bulges you could easily see an outline of my head and shaft and was impossible to hide.

Growing up wearing one desensitized me a little bit but feel exposed and weird in front of kids and parents.

I have a white bikini again this summer. Mom always told me to use what I have to my best advantage, and this shows off my butt (which is arguably my best feature) really nicely, as well as the rest of me, all 240 pounds of me. :)

Fat girls who are in good shape can apparently get away with wearing a bikini, because I get plenty of smiles, thumbs up, and positive comments when I go to the community pool in it. :)
