So my facial hair turned more darker. I've talked about shaving with my mother but she disagreea and tells me to shave only after I turn 18. I'm 16 right now and because of the facial hair, I kinda look a little older than that. How do I convince my mother to let me shave?
Also, will I look weird if I did? At what age did you start shaving and did you look weird?

I started shaving at around 15 maybe.
No I didn't look weird...probably childish :P

Tell her to let you try to shave. After all, you are 16, you can take some of your decisions now.

it's kind of strange that she thinks shaving is some over-18 thing. I started shaving at 13 and my mom made a big deal about it (in a good way) saying I was growing up so fast and blah blah blah. but shave if you want to man, there's really nothing stopping you

Just do it without parental consent. I was growing a moustach at age 11 because I wasn't ready to start shaving. Then someone commented and I did, and the longest I've gone not shaving since I started is about a week. I absolutely hate facial hair, and my guess is I looked weirder with it. You need to shave especially when you'e younger because then you don't "look old before your time". I don't feel like an adult and never will either, so I never want to look like an adult, which is why I'm going to keep shaving XD Maybe try to tell her something like this, I know it sounds stupid but it's the best I can think of on the spot and it sounds "a little bit" like a logical explanation.

Tell her that is YOUR face so you want it shaved.

Why does your mom come into it?

Go to the store, buy equipment and get shaving! :P

The second I had facial hair, my mom got me a razor. Maybe your mom is sad that you're growing up so fast

I'm 13 and shave regularly. I started doing it with permission but then my mom realized and was cool with it. she was bummed that I started really though.

Well, she says it'll grow back very fast and will make you look even older. And no, she won't let me still..

I just bought the stuff myself when I was like 12. Looking around at school, everyone else does too... Or hurts themselves trying :P

I'm 17 and I can grow a full beard. When I do shave I look waaay younger and when I keep my beard I look 21. Tell your mom you want to look clean and not look like a hobo. :) that's what I did to help my mom teach me how to shave.

it should be up to you whether you shave or not, not your mums! its your face you decide what you want to do with it

I'll be 16 in 16 days (lol. I've been saying I'm 16, though for like, ever lol) and I started shaving at 15... I've been doing it for a while now. Hell, my mom was the one who bought me shit for it. I'd tell her to let you do it because it looks like you don't know how to groom yourself...

I started with 13 from time to time. Now with 16 I need to shave at least twice a week.

My mum is the same, I really started at 13 but left it after a while because I never had a proper razor till now. But I shave once a week now that i'm 15.

Once again haven't read all the replies, but if you think you want to shave do it. You're my age and people in my year a few shave.

I started shaving at 13. Your mom really shouldn't have a say in if you shave or not. I recommend buying one of those electric razors for like $40 so you don't have to teach yourself how to shave with a regular razor.

I'm 18 now and I've been shaving since I'm like 13, idk. You don't have to ask, I didn't do it. Just go for it, it's your face.

I started shaving when it became noticeable. The only thing I shave is my sideburns/side of my face though. If I let it go long enough I kinda look like wolverine.

I don't even remember when I started shaving about 12-13 I think and I hate having facial hair but the more you shave the faster it grows back so ask yourself is it worth waiting as long as you can?
