Teens in my area wearing shorts in winter??

I have noticed many times almost every day so far this winter. Teens from age 10 to 18 or so are wearing shorts....its the dead of winter! I asked a friend of mine and he said that they were lacrosse players. I am from Maryland and we have alot of Lacrosse players. But there are too many teens doing this to just be the lacrosse players. I dont know if this shorts-fad is only here but I dont get it. And they are not the normal shorts, they are the super-thin gym-type shorts. Its winter and they are wearing shorts. There are too many doing this to just be a coincidence. Whats with this?:what:

Actually, I'm like the only person here that I know of who wears shorts in winter. I just find them waaay comfortable

Haha, guys will wear scant amounts of clothing in winter because they think they're tough guys.

And as far as girls go, girls are just weird ok. I don't even know about them tbh

Right now I'd honestly wear shorts where I'm at- it's like 60+ degrees (Fahrenheit) most of the time.

Though I wouldn't right now, because it's rainy, windy, and kinda chiily :P But at the same time, maybe I would. XD I like rain.

My sister tries to do that every single day and my parents yell at her and make her change but she still tries.

I'm the opposite, I have jeans on all year even when it's 105F here in the desert.

I live in florida the coldest we had this "Winter" Was like 30 degrees I still wore shorts because I do it for fashion and not be warm ^_^

Basketball shorts: Most guys like them and will tolerate being cold part of the day if they're going to be too warm some other part of the day. Better to be cold while outside and in one class than to be too warm, have your junk sweat a little and then have that bit of dampness all day. That's why we sit with our legs so wide btw. Drying the boys out.


Also, I play hoops and lax and at this time of year lax players are wearing a cup several hours a day with compression shorts usually, it's always sweaty there and if your junk doesn't air out, you'll end up with jock itch or more jock itch.

It's a comfort thing, not a fashion thing for me and guys I know.

I quite often wear skirts in winter :) I am usually fine if it isn't a long trip

Well, some guys maybe do it for fashion others cuz it's comfortable. I don't care...I live in a rather warm place so lots of people wear shorts all year round. Me, I don't wear them too often I prefer jeans even during very hot periods.

No idea but I checked the weather local there and its cold.

I live in colorado (hence the mountain sig) I and many people at my school wear shorts all year long with the exception if it's snowing 3 ft of snow!

It gets pretty cold here in the winter, I am going to go with what WisenUpJanetWeiss said, its guys trying to be tough. And its been a COLD winter here. One day a month ago it was 4 degrees F and very windy and they were still wearing shorts.

Or their just idiots, I often wear shorts when it's cold but I've seen people wear them when it's snowing. I've asked them why and they respond with "I didn't realize it was snowing", just look out the window!

I live in Wisconsin and it's been crazy cold here this winter. I don't notice many people wearing shorts unless they're coming or going directly to sports, but I can say that my parents think I'm weird because I never wear socks even in the cold.

They think it's fashionable, so they be cold in order to look good.
