Hey boys. So i asked a mate n he didnt really get what I was asking so maybe you guys might... here goes.... when I jerk off normally ( as in my daily session) my cum is warm when it hits me but if I edge for ages my cum is almost hot n it changes too...i.e...normal wank its in thick ropes....edge session its still thick but more watery n shoots out with alot more force... Am I the only one this happens to?

Force for sure! Definitely more force when I edge. Don't really notice the others.

I have noticed that after edging the cum is slighly thinner and tends to shoot further. There also seems to be more of it.

As for temperature I am not sure it will actually be any hotter. Given the glands that make most of the volume are inside the body they, and therefore your cum, will be normal body temperature, i.e. 37C/96.4F. On the other hand your impression of how warm it is probably depends on the difference between that and your skin temperature, i.e. the cooler your skin is the warmer the cum feels. Maybe if you have been naked longer your skin has had a chance to cool off a bit? The reason I suggest it is this way round is because the body regulates its internal temperature but not the skin temperature.

I've noticed that when I'm horny and just have myself a quick wank, my cum is more likely to come out real thick and clumpy. But when I take my time, do it slowly and with a lot of edging, then I'll shoot more cum and it's usually thinner and hardly at all clumpy.

Maybe it's because there's more pre-cum mixed in when I take longer before letting myself cum? Or maybe my prostate does something different if it's been stimulated for a long time? I dunno.

That was certainly one of the theories I had given that, from what I have read, the prostate's contribution is thinner and the seminal vescieles contribution is thicker.

The other possibility that occurred to me is the mechanism you discovered where thick cum would "melt" when left, i.e. is something inhibiting the thickening or causing the thinning to happen early.

Its supposed to be hot, and it makes sense that the longer you do it the hotter it is.

I've also noticed that when doing it for a long time and edging my cum shoots faster/further.

I am guessing that is because you are masturbating more intensely which increases your temperature of your semen. It would normally be body temperature. That is also why you get low hangers so that your semen doesn't get too hot.

I have been told (Sex-ed class) that sperm is same as your normal body temperature until it is ejaculated. Then it become room temperature.

I dont know about that but it feels ALOT warmer than room temperature when it splashes on me...

That's because it takes time for it to cool. If you boil a kettle of water and leave it, eventually it will return to room temperature as the water loses heat into the air. On the other hand if immediately after boiling it you pour the water on your hand it will scold because it has not had time to cool. It's the same with cum. It has been inside the body and is therefore the same temperature as the inside of the body - body temperature. From the moment it is ejaculated it will start cooling but when it lands on your skin it has only been out of the body for less than a second and won't have lost much heat by then. Once it has landed it will continue cooling, though sitting on your skin it won't reach room temperature, or at least not all of it will, as your skin temperature will be a little bit higher than room temperature.

This was in relation to what Scott2002 said above about having noticed that his cum is thick after a quick wank and thinner if he has been edging for a while. That does seem to be a common thing and I had noticed the same, but I am not sure if anyone knows for sure the exact reason why this happens so we were speculating. The other thing I noticed, and which is commonly reported, is that there seems to be more of it after edging that after a quick wank.

To understand the first theory proposed by Scott2002 you have to know that cum (semen) is more than just sperm. Here is a section from the Wikpedia article:

During the process of ejaculation, sperm passes through the ejaculatory ducts and mixes with fluids from the seminal vesicles, the prostate, and the bulbourethral glands to form the semen. The seminal vesicles produce a yellowish viscous fluid rich in fructose and other substances that makes up about 70% of human semen.[1] The prostatic secretion, influenced by dihydrotestosterone, is a whitish (sometimes clear), thin fluid containing proteolytic enzymes, citric acid, acid phosphatase and lipids.[1] The bulbourethral glands secrete a clear secretion into the lumen of the urethra to lubricate it.[2]

So Scott2002's theory was that because the contribution from the prostate gland is thin, and that from the seminal vesicles thick, if the prostate gland was to be producing more fluid during the time spent edging, when the semen was eventually ejaculated that would explain both the extra volume and, because there was now a greater proportion of thin prostatic fluid to thicker seminal vesicle fluid, how it comes to be thinner.

But later in the same Wikipedia article there is the paragraph:

After ejaculation, the latter part of the ejaculated semen coagulates immediately,[8] forming globules,[9] while the earlier part of the ejaculate typically does not.[10] After a period typically ranging from 15 – 30 minutes, prostate-specific antigen present in the semen causes the decoagulation of the seminal coagulum.[11] It is postulated that the initial clotting helps keep the semen in the vagina,[8] while liquefaction frees the sperm to make their journey to the ova.[8]

So coagulate effectively means "become pretty thick". So I was thinking "What if the mechanism by which it coagulates was somehow upset by the edging?" That would certainly explain it being thin. The other thing that seems possible from that paragraph is the prostate-specific antigen has got to work early to make sure it stays liquid. If that is the cause maybe we would find that less than 15 minutes edging would never cause thin semen and over 30 minutes always would.

Thanks Hermes. You explained "room temperature" much better than I did. Thanks, again.
