Why do people love dimples?

I don't know if this is the right place for it but since it's "Questions for both boys and girls" and attraction is also a puberty thingy, I'll drop it here.

Why do girls like guys with dimple? I have dimples (yes two of them. One is a little more deeper than the other one but both are visible)
When I meet new people, both boys and girls but mostly girls, point out my dimples and give some cheesy compliments which annoys me.
So why do girls love dimples? I know it's a defect but still..why?
Also I have a "butt chin" which is another dimple. Do girls like that too?

There are two types of "dimples"' in the face;

-chin dimple
-cheek dimples

They both have to do with the same thing; people are in general attracted to an outstanding symetrical jawline; shape varying from square to oval,
pointed in females and rounded in males.

Cheek dimples and visable cheekbones show the deepnes of the face and the structure of the skull; so they are attractive.

Chin dimples are often the result of a square and defined/rounded jaw, which is also more attractive.

I think I have cheek dimples but obviously they don't show as much when you've got a chubby face XD I feel them but very little

Dimples can also be associated with a 'cute', innocent, childish face, etc.

They make faces look very boyish/girlish, they're youthful. Like, I guess "attraction" to dimples is kind of like attraction to lolis, (which I don't understand), but like lolis, one doesn't necessarily have to be attracted to them to appreciate that they are cute.
