++LONG STORY ALERT++LONG STORY ALERT++
So, I had a conversation with my friend, for the sake of better understanding it, I will call her Jane. She criticized and then mocked my choices about music and dressing, the conversation went like this.
Jane: Why don't you go with the flow and start listening to turbofolk (Serbian music I despise), dress up like a football hooligan and stuff like that? Stop wearing that Sabaton hoodie, jeans and those boots.
Me: I don't go with the flow. Those are the average, I am above that (my ego got the better of me).
Jane: Why? You would be awesome, people would like you more.
Me: I don't care about someone else's opinion, I am not changing myself to appease people.
Jane: Why are you so against stuff the majority like?
Me: Because I dislike it. Sure, keep it to yourselves but don't shove it unto me.
Jane: So because you are a metalhead, when you go to a club, you are not going to dance to turbofolk music?
Me: I won't go to that club. I would go somewhere where metal is on the music list, or stay home.
Jane: Oh come on, you would just stay home?
Me: No, I would throw a metalhead party at home.
Jane: Wow, you are pathetic.
Me: That could be said for you. You go with the flow to appease people.
Jane: Oh yeah? I want to see you fight someone just like the "normal" people do.
Me: Ok, I will take you to the Iron Maiden concert. Me and my gang are gonna be very near the mosh pit, and that means a lot of ass kicking or getting our asses kicked.
Jane: No, my dad is going there...
Me: We will just go to a different area, if he notices you, who cares, just tell him you want to try listening to metal.
Jane: No, I am not going there, I hate metal.
Me: Sure thing.
Jane: My friend here disagrees with you too.
Me: Like I care.
Her friend: Wow, Sabaton, you are so lame...
Me: The same could be said for you, you didn't change that shirt for two weeks, and you only wear that tight leather jacket for three weeks. Did it grow with your skin so you can't take it off?
Her friend: I am not a speed (that drug that's similar to LSD) junkie like you.
Me: I am not a speed junkie, I only take regular doses of metal ;)
Her friend: Whatever...
Then the bell rang, so we went our separate ways. I was indifferent about what Jane and her friend said. I am not going to shape myself to satisfy people's demands. Now the question, I want to solve this problem, because Jane is generally OK, as a friend, and I want to keep it that way.
