Guys, do you shave with the grain or against it? Everything I read tells me to shave with the grain, but it doesn't do anything. Do you have any tips for shaving your neck around your Adam's apple? It's a difficult spot.

I have an electric one and so I go around in circles more which helps it go both with and against the grain. I think ur supposed to do it with the grain. Though against gets a closer shave it's easier to get irritated and ingrown hairs

I use a electric razor for every day. When I razor Shave I go with the grain to get most hair cut down then I clean razor feed and more shave cream for final shave I go slow against grain. I find if I do it otter its fine if I don't my skin goes red for a few hrs after shave then fine after. But it's a nice close cut .

I use a manual razor. I shave down the neck and from side to side horizontally.

I use a Gillette Fusion and Barbasol shave cream. They work great for me. I have a fairly heavy beard and I shave both with and against the grain. I have never had a big problem with my neck or adams apple. just be a bit careful. I know that the sides of the neck next to the adams apple can be stubborn some times to get all the beard off. My Fusion glides over my face well because it moves.

When I shave the peach fuzz on my face, I shave with the grain and it does a good job. I'd just go very gentle when shaving around the adam's apple because if you go too fast, it'll nick you. I'm speaking from past experiences lol

I shave with the grain, but then again it isn't that much, just really dark and shows. For the neck, I would just take your time and make sure that you are careful. For me at least, I do not have to shave my neck all that often

I go with the grain too. I agree, shaving around the Adam's apple is difficult, but I just end up with wicked-ass razor burn if I try going against it. I just press a little harder with the razor and do quick, short slides along the skin.
